Ok, those two words above sound almost the same (at least to me). So what is a keffiyeh and what about Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) coffee? I just came across this term when I was reading the posts about this topic. All I know was it was probably called a scarf, a big scarf.
A keffiyeh is a checkered scarf, more known and seen being worn by Moslems. No surprise there because we have seen some personalities associated with the religious group, or even those who do not belong to the group but tries to blend with them, wear this. A variety or maybe a more popular variety is the red and white checkered one.
Michelle Malkin raised a ruckus when she wrote a blog entry about Rachael Ray wearing this keffiyeh in a DD ad. Pamela Geller wrote about it first. So what happened next? DD pulled out the ad. Yep, it did, and this is the link.
This here is another link.
Me? I’m outta here. I will just sleep off a sudden craving for donut, any glazed donut

We think the whole world is advancing right? Maybe it is because we have become technology-dependent, and “sophisticated”, in however we want to interpret the word. Why, even small children like my 6yo son Julian has a cell phone, though of course, it is an old, old one.
We think that because information can be had through wireless means mean that everywhere we go, that is the case. Of course, its not. There are still a lot of places, here in the Philippines as well as other countries where there is no electricity, where roads are unpaved and where people still have primitive ways.
In Brazil, a tribe was discovered. This here is a link, and another one over here. Photos can be seen here.
I wonder, the way the forest is dwindling so fast here in our country, we don’t have these kinds of tribes anymore.

Dito sa Pilipinas, mainam magpalipad ng saranggola kapag Pebrero.
Here in the Philippines, it is great to fly kites during February.

Dito sa taas na Shell Flower Terraces sa La Mesa Eco Park, napakalamig ng hangin.
Here on top of the Shell Flower Terraces at the Le Mesa Eco Park, the air is so cool. Read here about my picnic with other mommy bloggers.

Can earthquake be predicted? Earthquake prediction is a controversial issue. There are lots of issues to be considered about this topic and for some readings about this, you can click here and ponder upon the finer points of earthquake prediction while I write about why I want to write about the two topics in the title.
Coming home from work a little more than an hour ago, while I was preparing food for supper while hubby is taking care of the water supply aspect of this household, I can hear the neighbor’s frantic, hysterical cries or should we say, shouting matches with her children.
“I-ready nyo na ang mga kandila!” Gather the candles!
“Magdasal na kayo diyan!” Go pray!
“Hello __? (I didn’t catch the name) Nabalitaan niyo ba yung lindol daw? Lilindolin daw ang buong Pilipinas?” Hello (name here)? Did you hear about the earthquake? That the Philippines will be experiencing an earthquake?
Apparently, this neighbor of mine got that circulating malicious text message about an earthquake that would hit the country. I am not happy about these things causing people to panic. Not that I don’t fear earthquake, in fact I do, earthquakes are on top of my list of things to fear.
On the other hand, these malicious text messages are wrecking havoc to the otherwise unsuspecting people, making them do things out of panic, out of fear.
When will these kinds of pranks stop?
What good would these malicious text messages do to those who make them?

I didn’t know that it was “fiesta” where we live. Fiesta means when the Catholic faithful flock to the church to celebrate a saint’s special day. Then households prepare food for the visitors who will visit them.
It was a nice weather yesterday and I can hear shouts of laughter and cheers as children play games on the street somewhere in the vicinity where we live. I wanted to go out and watch them and perhaps take photos but the bum in me decided to not go out under the scorching sun. Hubby and I did go out, as the sun was setting, to go to mass. Yes, we stayed in again, since the kids are not here and there seemed to be no reason to go anywhere (if they are here, they prefer to stay in too) since we have everything we need in the house, food and new DVDs
Here is a sunset photo that I took as I stepped out of the front door:
