Where Have All the Sunflowers Gone?

Blurred photo, taken from a moving vehicle. Those yellow green plants without leaves and flowers? These used to be sunflowers. We have been experiencing rains during the summer and I expected these plants to perish since these thrive in the heat and sunshine. But the sunflower plants just lost their leaves and flowers and are still standing straight and tall. Baffling, isn’t it?

Here is another entry for Weekend Snapshots.

I wanted to have pics taken with the sunflowers last month. But the rains came too early. The flowers have gone. The plants may still be standing up .. but what good are these without the huge, yellow, happy flowers? They will soon die for the plants are good only for a season.

    Till next year.

ay kawawa naman ang sunflowers. :( but you’re right, the still-standing stalks are an amazing reminder about the resilience of nature. :)

my mom used to plant those sa aming garden and i loved seeing them in full-bloom. once they start wilting, nalulungkot na ako because it means that summer’s over. *sigh*
