Book Review: Lady Whistledown Strikes Back

I love the continuation of the little stories in this book. I just had to go back to the earlier ones when the scenes merge.

All stories are good but I like the last one, that is Sophia and Max, the best. It feels like 12 years though is too long to have them in separate lives.

The thief? I had an inkling about it even before it was revealed.

My GoodReads review:

Not sure which among my shelves to put this book in, it is funny but not really funny. It comes across as a sitcom but with a sinister plot. It was written in a way that readers would want to rush through the book without skipping on the details to see what really happened.

The characters are lovable and there could be someone you know who is like one of them.

Great read! If not I wouldn’t have stayed up late then wake up early to finish the book.

Prey by Linda Howard

Prey by Linda Howard has something different: a man-eating black bear.

Prey by Linda Howard

4 stars in my GoodReads review but I didn’t write something.

Maybe because I liked the story but not the bear. I did like the story but not the bear. The suspense was quite expected but I felt the story was stretched a bit. I also wondered why Dare was just too strong to withstand the elements. Dare the H is someone I would like to be my guide when I go camping in the woods during winter. Maybe Angie can go too so that they can work together to ensure all of us in the camping trip will survive.

In Your Dreams Blue Heron #4 by Kristan Higgins

Book #4 of the Blue Heron series. I’ve read the first three so I should read this one too, right?

Here is my GoodReads review:

I laughed as well as cried but there was something I didn’t get. Maybe I was expecting Jack to be “more” and am a bit disappointed with him.

His character lacked those moments when he realizes why he can’t live without Em, Maybe that’s the one.

Also the other pairs I loved in the earlier books were a bit too “comical” in this particular book.

Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

I started this book but it was weird that I needed to take a break and in between I was able to read two (or possibly three) books in between. Yeah talk about weird.

Here is my GoodReads review:

Finally finished the book.

This was one book I was so eager to read but in between chapters I had to take breaks and I’ve read three other books before I read till the end.

It has a unique writing style that is not chronologically possible but as one reads the events, one can weave the plot as these events unfold.

I enjoyed the book and at the same time I didn’t enjoy it because there was a certain feeling that something is going to happen contrary to what I think should happen. It did and that was totally unexpected and it gave me the creeps.

Would I recommend the book? I would.

What’s more weird is that I’ve started the Dangerous Boys book but am taking a break right now.
