“We are going to stop this soon,” laments a friend re her and her husband’s smoking habits. They’ve tried a lot of alternatives: gum, nicotine patch, candies, e-cig and even availed of fast shipping on vaporizer cigarettes for a time.
I know they are trying hard to curb the habit but it is hard. One of them even had to be hospitalized.
Below are a few nicotine withdrawal symptoms:
- anger – because they feel the need to smoke but can’t because they promised to stop
- cough and mucus – my father got sick when he stopped smoking and thank God, he was able to recover due to a strict health regimen. He has to or else, egad!
- headache – they miss the smoke and the sensations it create
- feeling different without a stick or a pack
At first this is difficult but I believe that willpower is more powerful than addiction. After all, health is one of the foremost things to be considered to live longer and happier.
