It used to be that calling loved ones who are overseas was a daunting task.
I can still remember people seeing people lining up at the telecoms center to be able to connect to an operator who would in turn connect them to the phone they wish to call, horrors of all horrors 😀
But now with the onset of VOIP, people can talk to their loved ones who are overseas anytime they want to and anytime they have free time.
Have I mentioned that this country is the texting capital? Yeah, never mind that some skip buying food as long as one can buy prepaid mobile phone credits just so one can text 😉
People can also call toll free for some inquiries especially on products being sold or even product recalls. Though I hope I would not have to do that kind of call.
