249M Philippine Peso Lotto Win

249 million in Philippine pesos is a lot of money. It is roughly 6 million dollars, based on a currency rate of PhP41 to a USDollar.

I do not know how much the winner gets, and how much tax is going to be taken from the winnings. I am not even sure what mode of payments are offered. Chances are, this winner can’t bring home the cash, haha! Unless the winner resides in a big house near the Pasig River as the rumor continues to spread.

That was how much the lottery winner this week won. Whoever his person is, he got his ticket from a lotto outlet in Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City. When we told the kids where this person got his ticket from, they were ecstatic. They thought we won and that we were already multimillionaires. Why? Since we live whereabouts. Sorry kids, our ticket for that draw was bought from the SM Megamall Lotto outlet.

IF, just for a moment, consider that IF, you were the person who won this money, what would you do with your winnings?

For me I would probably do a lot of things. First off, I may not be able to relax knowing hat anybody could easily think evil thoughts about me and my family in exchange for money. Wait, maybe its just me, getting paranoid. Why not? I’m rich! Fat chance, lol.

  • I would probably donate a portion of the money to church.
  • Secure the financial future of my children as well as my husband and I’s retirement plans.
  • Help my parents and MIL ease up their financial issues.
  • Help put up a foundation for special children who belong to the marginally poor and are not able to receive intervention services.
  • Of course, get a new home while we have this house remodeled.
  • And travel.

Ahh, so nice to dream big and grand dreams. I wonder what other people are thinking of when and if, by the very slim probability of any one of them winning in the lottery this big amount, what would they do with the money?

What would you do?
