Blocked Streets

Weekend had us stay in the house because of this very strong typhoon named Fengshen or Frank that bashed the country.

Saturday morning I was not surprised to see the scene in the photo below. It was a long night during Friday when I can’t sleep because of the noise coming from outside that in turn came from these:

What in tarnation are these trucks doing here?

Apparently, the lot in front of where we live was turned into a warehouse for Coca Cola. Not that I have anything against Coke because we love this sugary drink but this is a residential area, for heaven’s sake. People, I mean strangers in the form of drivers, cargo carriers, whoever, are coming and going and I have expressed fear that some of these would be potential no-good people.

Just yesterday I reported to the barangay/local government unit about a truck parked beside our place with two guys inside. They were there while the storm was at its worst, when the winds were howling, the branches of the trees falling off and the rains were pouring endlessly! What were they thinking?

They moved a few minutes after my call maybe because the security people asked them to. But they didn’t go away they just transferred to another place. Sheesh.

Calling Kapitana Marie, what should you think we do? I asked the barangay if a business permit or whatever was issued but they were clueless.

alam mo, we’re having the same problem here at our village. yung kapitbahay namin, ginawang “worship area” yung garahe nila. and they’re LOUD!! i don’t have anything against worshipping but this is a residential zone and wala naman silang permit. ang ingay pa!! tapos meron din kaming homeowner na may negosyo na hotdog stands. so his trucks come in and out and block the streets early in the morning. ewan ko ba kung ano ang gagawin ng association sa kanila. pareho ba tayo ng barangay?

When I was still living in Manila, a vacant lot in our street was also converted into a soft drinks and beer warehouse. Our street was plagued with all kinds of noises from jeeps, delivery trucks and pedicab getting loads of soft drink/beer carts. Our street became an eyesore. The residents decided to take action to petition the removal of the said warehouse.

same here…when we were still staying in QC there were trucks parked infront of our house. ang dami nila. i think they were there waiting hanggang matapos ang truck ban at makakalakad na sila. Pero nakakatakot talaga maliban sa maingay at nagiiwan pa sila ng kalat.

    keep safe.

That is so odd that the trucks would remain there.
