Dental Visit

I didn’t go to work today because my eldest daughter needed to do a dental visit because of a dental problem. No dental procedure was done yet and we have to go back after a week.

She has a good appetite as adolescents usually have and would probably not resort to having appetite suppressant since she has a positive sense of self so there is no need to stop her from eating to avoid the tooth from getting painful due to food residue 😀

So, what are the things one should remember to do when doing a dental visit with a child who has a dental problem?

  • Explain the child’s condition. If the child is mature enough to explain what is the problem, let her/him talk to the dentist.
  • Ask for different options you can have regarding the condition of the child.
  • Do not be afraid to ask what the fees are. If several procedures will be done, ask if a discount is possible.
  • Keep appointments especially if you need to go back for further tests.

Dentists are not scary. They can be the friend who will make you smile better 🙂
