That Time of the Month

No, I am not talking about that time of the month in a woman’s life. This time of the month of my topic is the time when we have to pay our bills.

I dread having the dates from 8th – 15th because this is the time when the bills start coming.

Homeschooling tuition bills are due during the first of the month. Although we still have only two more payments to pay, for September and October, we are going to be free paying for that obligation after October.

The electric bill and water bill payments are due at the same time, usually on the 16th.

The phone bill and the internet bill are both due on the 26th of the month.

The insurance bill comes every quarter and is also due during the 26th.

We don’t have cable tv and although I know we are missing some of the good shows like current events/news, this is still a plus since the children are not hooked to watching cartoons.

How do most people pay their bills? Some use their credits cards. Some use online banking for their bills payment. There are those who pay using their checking accounts, like what I do for the homeschooling tuition fee.   Some pay in cash, like what I do with most of the bills we pay for.

Whatever form of payment one has in paying the bills, it is still best to pay on time and set aside money for paying the bill.

In My Backpack

I have written about my new camera in my other blog. When we got this new camera yesterday, I was so excited I sneaked a few minutes from work and took some photo which can be seen here.

After work, I had to take a cab home because my hubby has to go attend an exhibit. He told me to leave my things in their house (this is where I work Fridays and Saturdays) and he will just get them when he goes home.

But li’l ole me can’t just leave my things there. I have to bring my things home with me. I put everything in my backpack and started walking towards the spot where I can get a ride to take a cab.

When I got in the tricycle (a motorcycle with something like a metal cage with a passenger seat attached on its side) I had to remove my backpack. I was worried the ride may damage my new camera.

I put my new camera in the backpack, along with my laptop. And because it doesn’t have any case for protection yet, I was worried about it getting “hurt” or damaged.

Hubby said we need to get a case for this bulky thing and he started rattling off some brand names. I thought, why not something like Rimowa products, just in case we have to put our things in just one case.

Anyway, I got home without getting some food supplies because I can’t risk leaving my backpack with the baggage counter. No way. So I just had some takeout food for the kids.

I took a lot of photos of the kids (as if I don’t have tons of their photos) and some things around the house.

I even went outside and tested a shot like this:

Let me try it another time, still in my position, while fiddling with the zoom button:

Oh, I am so loving this.

Chores, Rugs and Mess

Karen asked me what chores I do not like to do and these are my answers:

There are so many chores that need to be done in every home. Unlike other households here in the Philippines where a house helper or two are staples, our household has none. So some of the chores that need to be done grudgingly are the following:

  • Cleaning the floors which includes sweeping, mopping and wiping clean.
  • Getting rid of all the dirt from the cheap rugs that we use for wiping the shoes whenever we enter the house.
  • Washing the plates.
  • Cleaning up after the preparation for cooking
  • Organizing the things we use day in and day out, putting these where they belong.
  • Dusting.

Home Sweet Home

Everyone wants to have their own place to call their “home sweet home”. Several friends were able to get their own homes already and they have lots of stories to tell regarding the process of getting a house.

First, even if one has enough money saved for the purchase of a new house, or even the purchase of a house with a previous owner, it seems that there is never enough funds to pay for everything that has to be paid for. One has to get home mortgage to be able to finance all the necessary expenses to be able to purchase a house. Home mortgages like the Mortgage Finders Network should be able to help those who want to get into a mortgage loan process.

These expenses include all the paperwork, not to mention the expenses incurred in doing the legwork. Not to exclude the fee to be paid for the architect or engineer and carpenters who will build or remodel the house. And what about the furnitures? Well, at times, these have to wait. One can either use previously owned furnitures even if these seem “old” for the new house.

When done right, getting one’s home sweet home would not be a hassle but a breeze. Planning and timing are just two of the major key concepts in doing so.

My Blurry Vision

I have been on the look out for a suitable eye glasses for me since my pair is old and makes me dizzy when I use it.  The Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni gave me ideas on what to look for. Price is also an issue and guess what, the Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses is just right. These eyeglasses are becoming famous, Zenni Optical was on FOX news!
