Subaru Impreza WRX STi or Mitsubishi Evolution X?

As I have written in a previous post, we just love going to car shows, ogling at new and old cars.

Not that we want to torture ourselves since we can’t afford these anyway, but still getting near these cars is a thrill in itself.

Back to my title, if I have a car like the Subaru Impreza WRX STi:

Or a car like the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X:

That Time of the Month

No, I am not talking about that time of the month in a woman’s life. This time of the month of my topic is the time when we have to pay our bills.

I dread having the dates from 8th – 15th because this is the time when the bills start coming.

Homeschooling tuition bills are due during the first of the month. Although we still have only two more payments to pay, for September and October, we are going to be free paying for that obligation after October.

The electric bill and water bill payments are due at the same time, usually on the 16th.

The phone bill and the internet bill are both due on the 26th of the month.

The insurance bill comes every quarter and is also due during the 26th.

We don’t have cable tv and although I know we are missing some of the good shows like current events/news, this is still a plus since the children are not hooked to watching cartoons.

How do most people pay their bills? Some use their credits cards. Some use online banking for their bills payment. There are those who pay using their checking accounts, like what I do for the homeschooling tuition fee.   Some pay in cash, like what I do with most of the bills we pay for.

Whatever form of payment one has in paying the bills, it is still best to pay on time and set aside money for paying the bill.

World Food Expo or WOFEX 2008

The 8th International Exposition on Worldwide Food and Beverage, Technologies and Machineries will happen on August 6-9, 2008 at the World Trade Center, Manila.

There are seminars, workshops and cooking demos that will happen simultaneously. Most of these are free but there are some like the Food Styling with Hands-On seminar, Meat cutting/Cooking techniques, French Baker seminar, “How to Flair” seminar, bar tending seminar, and Conceptualizing and Costing seminar, these have fees ranging from PhP600 – PhP1,000.

All the other activities with featured food products are for free.

Children under 16 are not allowed entry though.

To those who will go to the event, please attend the Floor Safety Maintenance in the Food Service Industry seminar to be given on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Seminar Room Cleo (C) at 3:00pm. This is going to be sponsored by Global Safe Philippines.

Nestle Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

weekendsnaphot_button4.gif

We had had another price hike in gasoline prices over the weekend. So what do we do then? Spend time at home, of course, and eat home-cooked meals and eat our free ice cream.

Free ice cream?

Yup, we got free tub of 3.4 liters of Nestle Cookies and Cream ice cream when we went to the Get Your Pop On Nestle Event last Thursday night. Woohoo!

Keffiyeh and Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee

Ok, those two words above sound almost the same (at least to me). So what is a keffiyeh and what about Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) coffee? I just came across this term when I was reading the posts about this topic. All I know was it was probably called a scarf, a big scarf.

A keffiyeh is a checkered scarf, more known and seen being worn by Moslems. No surprise there because we have seen some personalities associated with the religious group, or even those who do not belong to the group but tries to blend with them, wear this. A variety or maybe a more popular variety is the red and white checkered one.

Michelle Malkin raised a ruckus when she wrote a blog entry about Rachael Ray wearing this keffiyeh in a DD ad. Pamela Geller wrote about it first. So what happened next? DD pulled out the ad. Yep, it did, and this is the link.

This here is another link.

Me? I’m outta here. I will just sleep off a sudden craving for donut, any glazed donut 😀
