No More Lonely Nights by Charlotte Lamb

I have been a reader of romance novels ever since, with special mention on Mills and Boon books. It is in this regards that I decided to look for those 70’s-90’s published books. I mostly read late 80’s – 90’s books before, hah.

Charlotte Lamb‘s No More Lonely Nights is different from other romance books because the woman who supposedly is marrying the main guy is not like other b!tchy characters who are spiteful. Save for the main guy’s sis and the explosive chemistry between the two main characters and their suspicious nature in some instances, this is just an ok read.

Duke’s Shotgun Wedding by Stacy Reid

The Duke’s Shotgun Wedding by Stacy Reid is a fascinating, fast-paced novella full of secrets, romance and intrigue. For two strong personalities with their own quirks, the story was sweet, hot, fun and an enjoyable read. To those unfamiliar with historical romance genre, this is a good initiation book.

Too bad it was a short story. It would have been wonderful to get to know these characters more.

Devil and the Deep Sea

This was read at a time back in the early months of 2016 when I was reading 70’s – 80’s romance books.

GoodReads review

Why is it that these heroines think too much, assume a lot and not face the issues head-on? On the other hand, if they did, there wouldn’t be too much to go in with the stories.

I liked the story and have predicted pretty much who is the doing the mysterious acts. The plot is not the usual pink roses and champagne romance kind of book because there is a bit of thriller in it.

My GoodReads review:

Not sure which among my shelves to put this book in, it is funny but not really funny. It comes across as a sitcom but with a sinister plot. It was written in a way that readers would want to rush through the book without skipping on the details to see what really happened.

The characters are lovable and there could be someone you know who is like one of them.

Great read! If not I wouldn’t have stayed up late then wake up early to finish the book.

Prey by Linda Howard

Prey by Linda Howard has something different: a man-eating black bear.

Prey by Linda Howard

4 stars in my GoodReads review but I didn’t write something.

Maybe because I liked the story but not the bear. I did like the story but not the bear. The suspense was quite expected but I felt the story was stretched a bit. I also wondered why Dare was just too strong to withstand the elements. Dare the H is someone I would like to be my guide when I go camping in the woods during winter. Maybe Angie can go too so that they can work together to ensure all of us in the camping trip will survive.
