Milestones

Last weekend, we went to a 65th birthday celebration of a family friend. She and her husband are one of our few pairs of husbands and wives pairs for our wedding’s principal sponsors.

Party

The children were at the party though it was strictly an adult party. The celebrant told my MIL, that they have to be there because she and the MIL have been good friends for a long time already and the grandchildren are also dear to her.

I love dress up parties even if it means I’ll probably have a hard time looking for the proper clothes for me. These words demotivate me at times: plus size dresses cheap. Not! these are mostly not that inexpensive. I’d probably put up with a little expense if only these don’t come in plus size. I know, I’m in denial.

I got a new realization during this particular celebration: that the golden girls can dance the night away, in dancing dresses and heels! Woot, woot!!!

Jelly Marbles

Once upon a time, we were so loving jelly marbles that we had them grow in a bottle. The children excitedly took note of how these grew day in and day out. We had to throw these away after a few days due to a reason or two for which I can’t actually remember. Ahem. I think it had something to do with toxicity because these are not the one from Science experiments but bought from the tiangge.

Anyway, I got surprised when I saw an Orbeez Magic Maker while surfing the web. I want one for my kids!!! 😀

I’m sure lots of children are going to love these.

Now, I wonder where we can buy in the Philippines.

Now I know, I saw these at Toys ‘R Us yesterday when we had lunch at TriNoma before the son’s medical check-up.

Celebrating Christmas

I am guilty of not writing a Christmas post. Been very busy with house chores.

I remember a song I’ve always loved as a child: “When Christmas time is over and presents are away, don’t be sad… Keep Christmas with you all through the year…”

People put so much emphasis on the gifting (yes, let’s admit we rather like being given new tech toys, that new bag, north face jackets and even beauty products) and celebrating Christmas without really understanding why this is being celebrated in the first place.

Did you indulge too much during this Christmas? How have you celebrated Christmas?
