Free SEAIR Tickets to Busuanga, Palawan

Who wants to go to Northern Palawan for free? Yes, free SEAIR tickets to Busuanga, Palawan. Anyone?

Hear ye, hear ye to all those who say “Buh! Its a scam!” To you I say,
“yes, it’s true!”

What could probably one  want to see in northern Palawan which is said to be very remote and at risk with ongoing economic exploitation and environmental degradation?

Northern Palawan is home to the most pristine natural habitats in the world. And for that alone would be enough reason to want to go there, whether its free or not. Who wouldn’t want to go there to be able to see El Nido and go diving or swimming in the clear blue waters? Or walk hand in hand along the beach with your loved one? Or maybe walk barefoot in the sand and bask in the glow of the sunset? Spend quality time with family or friends surrounded by natural wonders so unique and diverse?

Of course, flying there for free would be better 😀 And what could be even better is that its not one but SIX, yes, SIX SEAIR gift certificates to Busuanga will be given away to ONE lucky person. Not six persons but ONE person. How cool can that be?

This promo is courtesy of SEAIR Adventure Club and a dear friend Noemi who just celebrated her birthday last weekend. SEAIR is now using Dornier 328 aircraft flight services to Busuanga with travel time cut from 1 hour and minutes to only 35 minutes.

All you have to do is to write about why you would want to go to Busuanga via SEAIR of course, and have this post written by Friday, June 20, 2008, 8pm. Click here for more details.

Now if you didn’t get chosen, you can call these number: SEAIR Reservations at + 632 849-0100 or visit www.flyseair.com and inquire about the other flights that won’t take you there for free 😉

Kalayaan – Freedom

litratongpinoy1.gif

The theme for this week is KALAYAAN or FREEDOM. I have already written about this theme here in my TeacherJulie.com blog, a short hindsight about the history of our country. Please click this link that has a lot of photos and short snippets of history, thank you very much.

Para sa akin, ang kalayaan ay isang kaisipan. Isang sitwasyon na ang tao mismo ang siyang magde-desisyon mismo sa sarili niya kung siya ba ay tunay na malaya.

For me, freedom is a mindset. It is a situation where the person himself will decide if he is truly free.

Me dignidad pa ba tayo bilang isang bansa?

There are so many chains that deter us from achieving the freedom that we would like to attain: corruption, poverty, crime, drug abuse and other misdeeds that make us feel weak and inferior within ourselves, with being Filipinos, and inferior as a nation. Do we still have our dignity as a nation?

The Independence Day commemoration was not respected by this government, so how would this country expect its citizens to respect this important day in out history? Today, June 12 is our INDEPENDENCE DAY, not the other day. Even the children are confused.

Pilipinas, saan tayo patutungo?

Keffiyeh and Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee

Ok, those two words above sound almost the same (at least to me). So what is a keffiyeh and what about Dunkin’ Donuts (DD) coffee? I just came across this term when I was reading the posts about this topic. All I know was it was probably called a scarf, a big scarf.

A keffiyeh is a checkered scarf, more known and seen being worn by Moslems. No surprise there because we have seen some personalities associated with the religious group, or even those who do not belong to the group but tries to blend with them, wear this. A variety or maybe a more popular variety is the red and white checkered one.

Michelle Malkin raised a ruckus when she wrote a blog entry about Rachael Ray wearing this keffiyeh in a DD ad. Pamela Geller wrote about it first. So what happened next? DD pulled out the ad. Yep, it did, and this is the link.

This here is another link.

Me? I’m outta here. I will just sleep off a sudden craving for donut, any glazed donut 😀

weekendsnaphot_button.gif

Here it is, the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. The newest addition to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution series. One of the cars featured in the recently concluded April 3-6, 2008 Manila International Auto Show, this car is one of the most popular cars there, judging by the way people flocked to its place in the show. Yes, we went to the show and you can see adrenalin pumping photos here.

249M Philippine Peso Lotto Win

249 million in Philippine pesos is a lot of money. It is roughly 6 million dollars, based on a currency rate of PhP41 to a USDollar.

I do not know how much the winner gets, and how much tax is going to be taken from the winnings. I am not even sure what mode of payments are offered. Chances are, this winner can’t bring home the cash, haha! Unless the winner resides in a big house near the Pasig River as the rumor continues to spread.

That was how much the lottery winner this week won. Whoever his person is, he got his ticket from a lotto outlet in Barangay Talipapa, Quezon City. When we told the kids where this person got his ticket from, they were ecstatic. They thought we won and that we were already multimillionaires. Why? Since we live whereabouts. Sorry kids, our ticket for that draw was bought from the SM Megamall Lotto outlet.

IF, just for a moment, consider that IF, you were the person who won this money, what would you do with your winnings?

For me I would probably do a lot of things. First off, I may not be able to relax knowing hat anybody could easily think evil thoughts about me and my family in exchange for money. Wait, maybe its just me, getting paranoid. Why not? I’m rich! Fat chance, lol.

  • I would probably donate a portion of the money to church.
  • Secure the financial future of my children as well as my husband and I’s retirement plans.
  • Help my parents and MIL ease up their financial issues.
  • Help put up a foundation for special children who belong to the marginally poor and are not able to receive intervention services.
  • Of course, get a new home while we have this house remodeled.
  • And travel.

Ahh, so nice to dream big and grand dreams. I wonder what other people are thinking of when and if, by the very slim probability of any one of them winning in the lottery this big amount, what would they do with the money?

What would you do?
