A Safer Philippines for Ingat Pilipinas

Ingat Pilipinas has recently been launched to make people aware of road safety to avoid the loss of lives and properties through road accidents.

Ingat Pilipinas coalition is made up of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (HPG), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Safety Organization of the Philippines, (SOPI), in cooperation with Unilab and Biogesic.

According to the PNP-Highway Patrol Group, there are around 50 road accidents in the country everyday. 78% of the riding public depend on public transportation like buses, jeepneys, taxis, tricycles, pedicabs, the trains and more recently, the controversial “kuliglig”.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) together with Manny Pacquiao in cooperation with Alaxan FR, the top pain reliever, launches a unique initiative in honoring the hardworking Filipino men and women. These men and women who manage to struggle with their day-to-day jobs enduring all sorts of challenges along the way.

Mechanics for the Search for the Toughest Jobs in the Philippines:

  • open to all working Filipinos
  • the search will run from May 26 to August 21, 2010
  • those who wish to participate must login to www.toughjobsphilippines.com to register and upload a photo and explain why they have the toughest job
  • the entry with the most number of votes will win the competition
  • the winner will receive a trophy and cash prize

This contest will show the resilience, strength and toughness of the Filipino workers amidst their daily struggles.
