How to Hide Your Tagged Photos in Facebook

Friends and family love to tag you in photos taken with them when they post these photos in Facebook’s albums.

But when embarrassing photos come out for everyone to ogle at and talk about, you tell yourself, “Oh nooooo!!!!”

So you want to hide these tagged photos especially that one where it looks like you need the best acne treatment but don’t know how?

Here’s how:

  • Go to the clickable “Settings” on the top right of your Facebook page
  • Click the “Privacy Settings” when the menu drops down
  • Click on “Profile Information” and you will see a lot of choices like About Me, Personal Info, Birthday, etc
  • Scroll down till you reach “Photos and Videos of Me” Photos and videos you’ve been tagged in

facebook

  • Click that button and choose your preference whether you want “everyone”, “friends of friends”, “only friends” and “custom”
  • Custom setting will let you choose “Only Me”

So there. No need to un-tag your tagged photos nor have everyone see you in your third grade photo 😀

Supervising Children’s Online Activities

That children are tech-savvy these days, there is no doubt about it.

Why, even my children who are in early grades have an account (one account for both of them) in a popular social networking site. They use it primarily to play the games there.

When children are doing these, parents should be nearby to supervise their accounts. It is unwise to let them do unsupervised online activities using a laptop computer.

Even  if parents lecture about not divulging private information like home addresses, email addresses and phone numbers, still parental guidance is recommended (yes, I sound like a tv ad but this is very important).

Oh wait, before I forget, even parents or adults need some supervision too when it comes to supervising their privacy settings in these SNS.

Have you checked your privacy settings lately?

Airline Promo Fail

Some friends took advantage of a promo from a local airline company a few days ago. Instead of surprising their lived ones with the flight confirmation where they were supposed to have paid for a song,  they were surprised that their credit cards were charged several time due to errors. Que horror!

Uh-oh, I hope this is not a way to have floating money in the company’s profile because refund is said to happen within 60 – 90 days. Ugh.

With the many destinations to choose from, mainly top Asian (and Philippine) tourist spots (no, no orlando vacations being offered) it IS a great idea to offer low rates for these travels.

But come on, to be charged three or two times for a system error? I may not be an IT expert but something is just not right.

What? Did I hear a lot will file complaints? They should.

WordCamp Philippines 2009

WordCamp Philippines  2009 was  a mixture of different resource speakers who gave interesting talks. Congratulations to the organizers. Woot, woot!

Beau Lebens represented WordPress. Beau’s presentation can be read here.

Markku Seguerra presented WordPress in the wild with topics about deployment,  performance, optimization and security.

I enjoyed Danny Arao’s lecture on being responsible bloggers.

I guess a lot of  bloggers need to be reminded that not because they have the freedom to express their opinions mean that need not practice restraint. And tact. ‘Nuff said.

Seth Bindernagel spoke about the localization of Mozilla. This is Seth’s presentation as seen in Scribd. Translation in Filipino?  Hmmm…

Jeff of VisitSagada.com talked about writing and blogging and yes, it is advisable to “not burn bridges and be nice”. Positivity rules.

Gail Villanueva (her presentation is here) and Karla Redor talked about things tags, CMS,  plugins, custom field, and the like. (Pass the tissue please, am having a nosebleed, hehe)

WordPress 2.7 Beta 1

When we attended the WordCamp Philippines 2008 last September, the highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new WordPress called 2.7 which is due this November.

First I have been putting off writing a post about this because my memory card got busted and all my photos were there. I have forgotten about this until I remembered that the files were recovered. Bah.

In the State of the Word talk, Matt showed us some photos of this 2.7 version.

WP 2.7 dashboard.

WordPress 2.7 Plugin page.

For now, the WP 2.7 is still in Beta 1. Click here to read about it. Click here if you want to download and test.

I would probably wait until the end of the month, the probable time they will have the final release, before I download this version. For now, I wait. Impatiently 😀
