December Events

December is full of parties and family events. Not to mention family reunions on pre and post Christmas days, there are a lot of weddings and baby christenings happening during December.

I think we got two or three christening and baby shower invitations for this month.

I myself was baptized on Christmas Day, maybe for practicality of the event which coincides with a joyful occasion of celebrating the birth of Christ when food is prepared for family get-together so there was really no need to prepare for food for guests on two different occasions.

I love family celebrations but not the preparations that go with it: cooking, cooking, prepping the kids, and a lot of washing and cleaning up in between. But of course, the joy of being with your loved ones is nothing compared to spending time with them 🙂

Healthier You

A friend is veering away from smoking after being advised by her doctor to do so when she was given cotinine test. She is rather unwell it seems and needs to overhaul her lifestyle by adapting a healthier one.

So far, she is on her way to almost two weeks with smoking, has eaten more fruits, vegetables and fish and is drinking more fresh fruits and milk rather than soda.

I often wonder why it is that some people, it takes them a realization such as this one to veer away from things , or vices that make them unhealthy. Instead of spending on things that make them healthy, they spend more on things like hospitalization and medicine, which should not have been the case if only they have a healthier lifestyle.

Facebook Profile Photos as Cartoon Characters

“Change your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday (Dec.6) there should be no human faces on Facebook, but an invasion of memories. This is to show that you are strongly against violence on children.”

Holly Hobbie

Holly Hobbie for me. It was a toss between her and Tiny Poem of Sanrio but I chose Holly Hobbie. I’m not sure why since I had more Tiny Poem goodies back in the day.

There were those who think this is silly-childish to do. Well I don’t. Come on, lighten up people, while we can’t exactly change the violence being done to children, at least we raise awareness that this violence is real and is happening all over the world.

So, go, change your Facebook profile photo as cartoon characters and have some fun 🙂

Looking For Lost Sleeping Hours

Been under the weather these past few days. First it was the hubby who had a relapse of his cough. Then I got some aches and pains myself. Just when I thought my work schedule would be back to normal this week, my son came home the other day looking like he has a big candy in his mouth. He doesn’t.

Emergency trip to the dentist prompted a tooth extraction and he had to miss school today to rest.

I just want to crawl back to bed and just sleep until I can’t sleep no more. My eye bags have eye bags and I seriously need anti wrinkle eye cream. Seriously. That and a dose of iron supplements.

I can’t wait for Christmas break and not wake up at an ungodly hour of 4:15am to cook lunch to be packed for my children. They themselves need to wake up around 5am in time for the school service which arrives at 5:30am.

Sleep! where art thou?

Bukas Ba Ang Iyong Puso Ngayong Pasko?
