After the Binging

The season of eating, shopping and excesses Christmas is here again!

After the holidays, people troop to the drug stores to buy over the counter medicine for LBM. They also buy diet pills that work because after all the happenings, they intend to lose weight for the new year. Wait, I think I’ve heard this before πŸ˜‰

Of course being the practical slash saver slash kuripot *me is having another round of Frugal Christmas. It does me good, this frugal Christmas thing because it gives me a chance to learn how to bake goodies and my kids are happy too.

*kuripot = miser

Fish and Tofu

Ayan, ulam ko minsang nag-lunch kami ni hubby sa mall bago pumasok sa trabaho: Fish and Tofu sa Le Ching Tea House.

Fish and Tofu

Malapot ang sabaw. Malasa.

Juvenile Plans

I started paying for two juvenile plans almost nine years ago. At first I was unsure if I can afford getting two. But the insurance quotes my agent gave me seemed reasonable.

Nine years after, saving up for the quarterly premium payment has not been a problem with me, save for some times when I have to forego purchasing anything big to save up on the payment.

It feels like saving for something big. I just hope nothing bad will happen to the company before the children reach the age 21 πŸ˜€

Rescue Plans

Debt crisis.

Just when we though countries are doing well, considering all economic breakdowns happening a few months back, including Greece‘s, Portugal and Ireland are now positioning themselves for rescue plans.

If individuals have this kind of thing because they spend more than what they have, then nations are vulnerable too, borrowing for their national programs. Mismanaged finances make the country has a deficit that grows exponentially big and at times, uncontrollable.

For me personally, I don’t spend more than I earn, Unless I win the PhP500 lottery, then my spending habits still stay the same πŸ˜€

Another Frugal Christmas Post

I wrote in Facebook that “I want, errr… need a froyo but an eclair will do”. For those in the know, I meant a mobile phone. An android mobile phone.

I seldom but phones. My mobile phones are either hand-me-downs from the hubby or the other mobile phone I’m using was a “gift” from a telco where we did some beta-testing a year and a half ago.

In this season of giving, I don’t think I am ready to get myself that gift yet for I am forever “on a budget” for some of the more important things to pay for like tuition fee and food and school supplies and the list goes on and on.

The Christmas loot like football gifts, books, toys and more toys has a budget that is tightly guarded. Just because.

For now, I hope my new baking goodies would be worthwhile to give away since I plan to spend another frugal Christmas till it hurts. πŸ˜€
