How to Eat at a Buffet

Buffet? Where?

Have you been to a buffet and ate till you can’t breathe nor stand up?

I bet you did.

2014.September.Lenovo

There are however ways on how to eat smartly at a buffet:

  • Sit as far away from the food as possible
  • Position yourself that you are not in direct eye contact with the delectable food offerings
  • Look at the options and see which you think you have not eaten enough of and get these for your consumption.
  • Avoid fattening foods
  • Avoid the raw food especially if you do not have the  stomach for these
  • Lunch time is the best time to go because you still have time to burn the food you ate
  • Choose the food that are more expensive than you can normally afford.  Of course it doesn’t mean these are more delicious but since these may be above your price range, you now have a chance to “feast” on these
  • Slow and Steady will make you be able to have more
  • Be well hydrated.Take small sips of the drinks you have
  • Get food in small portions to avoid feeling full and regretting not being able to eat some food on the buffet table

This article does not tell you to eat less at a buffet, it merely tells you how you can make the most of your buffet experience.

Soft Tacos

We love to have uncommon food sometimes, not just rice + viand, a Filipino staple during meals.

Soft tacos or Tortilla Wraps is just about right for this family with three children who are also open to have a variety of food served:

Head over to my food blog to see how these Soft Tacos or Tortilla Wraps are prepared.

California Berry Ice Ice Baby

Sometime ago, I purchased California Berry’s Ice Ice Baby vouchers for the family.

I know we had these yummy desserts a long time ago, but I’m just blogging about it now.

Anyway, the kids enjoyed the idea of using the vouchers so much so I got another set of vouchers earlier this month. LOL.

gummy bears

Gummy bears and blueberries. Don’t ask, lol.

oreo

Oreo bits and shaved ice ala cookies and cream.

kiwi

Banana and kiwi slices.

There are so many kinds of vouchers to be bought online from restaurant vouchers (we’ve had a few of these) to vacation packages (no thanks), car cleaning services (we availed of this before too), cakes (I just ordered one a few weeks ago), “beauty procedures” (ahem!) and gadgets (we did too and had ordered another one last night). I wonder what they’ll think of next time: motorhome repair, leaky roof repair, gardening services or home-based pet grooming services?

I saw a house-cleaning services in one of the sites. I think I need more than one voucher, LOL.

Fish and Tofu

Ayan, ulam ko minsang nag-lunch kami ni hubby sa mall bago pumasok sa trabaho: Fish and Tofu sa Le Ching Tea House.

Fish and Tofu

Malapot ang sabaw. Malasa.

Bento Box

The famous Japanese Bento Box is one alternative to making the lunchbox exciting.

The food prepared in there is healthy too especially for those in the lookout for msm dietary supplements and more healthy food choices.

Here is a video that teaches how to prepare a Bento Box.

Not taking into account the time it takes to prepare a Bento Box, I would love to do this for my school children. BUT! even if I prepare their snacks (those that don’t need cooking) at night before I sleep, it still takes me some time to prepare three lunch boxes considering I wake up at 4am. So that means I wake up around 2am then. Oh my!

I would love to try this one of these days, maybe with practice and preparation, I’d get to master the know-how on making Bento Box 🙂
