Litratong Pinoy: Pahaba

litratongpinoy.gif

With all the photos I have depicting something rectangular/long, the photo below was the one I chose to feature since the street sign’s shape is rectangular, perfect for this week’s theme. I can’t think of anything more to feature. I planned to show my students’ photos using things that are rectangular in shape but their parents might sue me (harhar!). Most of them are different, or rather special, several having the condition we call autism. They behave in a box-like (square? rectangular? one way?) way since almost all their responses and feelings are being taught to them. But I don’t want to talk about them since I have written posts about them in my TeacherJulie.com blog.

Dewey Avenue?

Dewey Avenue? No, that is not in America. That is the name of the street in SBMA where the sign on a post, that we always pass by on our way to my parents’ house in the province.

But wait…The photo is blurred, my point and shoot camera had difficulties, my eyes are also blurred. I would just like to take a look again…

Ay! Bakit ganun? Me sulat, sulat Intsik ba yan? Bakit?

Oh my! Why is it like this? There are some strange writing, is it Korean, Chinese Taiwanese calligraphy? Why? Have they bought our country already, I mean the Subic Bay area, that’s why all the street signs as well as the tourist spots have these translations. Would it be possible that the day would come that we Filipinos will be considered as foreigners in this land of our birth? I hope not.

Lance Feliciano at Clark Expo

Lance Feliciano is a driver. He is a drift driver. Lance Feliciano is a Formula D driver. Lance Feliciano is the only Filipino to be issued a professional competition license, one of the 38 drivers who can compete in the US Formula D competitions.

He is only 20 years old.

Catch him live as he performs his drifts at the Philippine Race Wars at Clark Expo in Pampanga on April 26, 2008.

Read more about him here.

My son Julian loves drift driving back in 2006, when he was younger, he used to watch, and he still does, Initial D, a Japanese anime about drift driving. He even has toys from the show 😀

We could go there but Dang! there’s the iBlog 4 Summit that day which we signed up to go. Hmm…

Super Bikes

weekendsnaphot_button3.gif

We went to the Batangas Racing Circuit to watch some real, live action motor sport race. There wasn’t any car races yesterday, just motorcycle races. We saw the under bones first (called scooters here) with smaller displacements. 150-200 cc if I am not mistaken.

Then the Super Bikes came. These are no ordinary motorbikes, having 1000cc (or a little less than that, I am not sure) displacements. These motor bikes sound different, in fact to me, these sound great!

Below is a photo of the guys riding on super bikes, pardon the blur, had to resize the photos but these look great when seen through the original size:
