Unpredictable

Crazy weather is making a lot of people sick these days. It is always a puzzle whether to bring Persol sunglasses or umbrella. Or maybe one opted to stay in the house or brave the now “it is just drizzling that becomes a heavy downpour that ends up with the sun shining brightly” kind of weather.

Last Friday night’s heavy downpour caused the ceiling where I work to leak and water came pouring through. My seat is wet, the squishy kind of wet because it is an office chair. Good thing my work-materials are intact because these have are covered with big plastic covers. Some books were partly wet. Argh.

I miss summer days.

Cool Nights + Hot Days = Allergy

The nights and early mornings have been very cool since last month and I should be thankful. Well, I am thankful with that except that mid-morning till mid-afternoon the weather becomes very hot. Hence the headache, allergy attack and asthma attack for my son. Sigh…

As early as now the children are hinting about getting an inflatable pool (yes, we don’t have to get a pool and/or spa filter for this)  now that our water supply is better. Finally, I think we can get one for them now 😀

I can bear with the aches and pains for now for I know that these too shall pass. And until summer is not officially here,  we are going to enjoy the cool weather especially at night.

New Priorities after Ondoy

Rehabilitation seems to be the correct word to use in terms of dealing with the massive losses that happened during Ondoy‘s wrath.

For some, gone are the cars that were either submerged in flood waters or seen floating away from the point of origin. Gone are the soft beds, the treasured books, tech gadgets, HDTV, important documents, and other things that seem important before the deluge came.

Now what?

It seems that there is a shift in the priorities after what has happened.

Now it is more about family, being together, helping those who are in need and cooperation.

Wonderful, just wonderful.

Now, would those looters stop their illegal activities now? Harrumph!

Still on Typhoon-related Issues

Panic buying. Health issues. Flooding.

These are just some of the issues that this country has to deal with and I think I haven’t even scratched the surface.

One of the major concerns are the bodies being retrieved due to death from the flash floods.

I am wondering though if having a mortgage life insurance would assure one of having to deal with these things easier.

And God help us as we brace ourselves to face another supertyphoon.

The Nights are Getting Longer and Colder

November has just started but we are experiencing unusually cool weather here in our otherwise hot and humid country.

Rains have been coming for the past several weeks. The seedlings we have planted have been benefiting from these although elsewhere these rains meant bad news.

The days are getting shorter because the afternoons are getting darker earlier than usual.

It is quite difficult to wake up at the usual hour, which is 5:00am because it is still dark and chilly. Sleep seems to call upon people to stay in bed longer.
