How to prepare for a super typhoon:

  1. Listen to all the warnings and if your area is going to e hit real hard, do preemptive evacuation immediately. Loss and damage to properties is not what you need to be concerned with but the possible loss of lives.
  2. It will do you good if you listened and participated in disaster drills being done in the workplace or school.
  3. Prepare a survival kit for you and your family as you also secure important documents and papers.

Renovation Going On

Among the list of things needed to be bought for the renovation of a little room was an er Wagner. I had to look it up because honestly, I had no idea what it is to think that I always say I love going to hardware stores.

Unlike some friends who are well-versed with not just the terms but the how-to on having something constructed, I am totally not into immersing myself with construction and the things involved with it. I’d rather leave this aspect to the hubby.

SIDCOR Sunday Market

Sharing an article I wrote about SIDCOR Sunday Market

Weekend Markets seem to be sprouting like mushrooms in key cities and distinct venues around Metro Manila. Most of these weekend market venues are fairly new. One of the few that has survived for more than a decade amidst several changes of venue is the SIDCOR Sunday Market.

Those who want to make the best of their SIDCOR Sunday market experience may find  the following tips useful:

  1. Arrive early not just to secure a parking space but to avoid the heat of the sun.
  2. Try to eat a little breakfast because,  with so much cooked food around, you might be tempted to eat something that will not sit well on an empty stomach.
  3. Bring enough eco-bags for your purchases. Have a separate bag for the wet purchases like fish and meat and another for the dry food like fruits and vegetables. If you plan to buy a lot, bring a stroller for your eco-bags. You’d be surprised how many patrons lug these strollers with them while going around.
  4. If at first you tend to have a hard time choosing who among the merchants you will buy stuff from, choose the friendliest of the lot or the one who will reduce the price even for a fraction. The prices of the goods being sold are almost the same.

How to Stretch Your Budget

So you want to stretch your budget? Me too.

If you want to achieve this goal, you have to prioritize the things you need to scrimp with and splurge on.

You can stretch your budget by making intelligent choices and decisions. Here are a few steps to consider:

  • Write down what you need to purchase and prioritize the more important ones to the less important ones.
  • Before purchasing something big, ask yourself: “Do I really need this now or can purchasing it wait for later?”
  • Write down what you spend on, be it a chocolate bar or a new bed, to help  you monitor where your money is going. You may be surprised to see that you are spending more on non-essential things than on the must-have items. (Are the hair pieces worth the investments than going to the hair salon every few weeks or so for a new hairstyle?)
  • Make room for financial investments, be these real estate property, shares in the stock market or financial plans. Talk to a financial adviser so that your investment does not end up in the wrong hands.

Trumpet Concerto

Listening to classical music is relaxing, like the Trumpet Concerto featured below.

Classical music does not just put one to sleep as some might think it does, but it makes workout better due to increased productivity and motivation. Here’s why.

There are times though that I prefer to work with noisy, upbeat music though.
