Capitol Hills Bluewater Day Spa

We were able to attend the opening/launching of the Capitol Hills (Quezon City) Bluewater Day Spa last Tuesday with bloggers friends Noemi, iMom, Wenchie and Cookie and more

One of the highlights of this event was meeting Piolo Pascual who is one of the endorsers of Bluewater Day Spa. The other endorser is Marian Rivera who was also present during the event. Piolo is charming and articulate, no doubt about it.

When we ambushed him for an interview in one of the rooms at the spa, he advised hardworking people to “love yourself more”. He also said that it is important to relax and rejuvenate especially if one has been working hard. He in fact has full body massage at least once a week, sometimes even he is in a set for shooting.

WordPress 2.7 Beta 1

When we attended the WordCamp Philippines 2008 last September, the highlight of the event was the unveiling of the new WordPress called 2.7 which is due this November.

First I have been putting off writing a post about this because my memory card got busted and all my photos were there. I have forgotten about this until I remembered that the files were recovered. Bah.

In the State of the Word talk, Matt showed us some photos of this 2.7 version.

WP 2.7 dashboard.

WordPress 2.7 Plugin page.

For now, the WP 2.7 is still in Beta 1. Click here to read about it. Click here if you want to download and test.

I would probably wait until the end of the month, the probable time they will have the final release, before I download this version. For now, I wait. Impatiently ๐Ÿ˜€

Blog Blast for Peace on November 6, 2008

November 6, 2008Get your own peace globe at Mimi Writes

Last June, there was a Revolution of Words. This November 6, there is another round for the Blog Blast for Peace.

Here is a part of my entry for the June event:

Peace is a rare commodity. Its a commodity because it is expensive. Billions are spent to curtail war, to stop terrorism, to have peace. But with all the families broken, the souls destroyed, antiquities forever gone, do we even say that peace has been achieved? Are we even happy with the way things turned out? Can we truly say that we feel safe and secured? Can we really say that justice has been served or is being served or will be served to those who truly deserve it?

This November 6, join the bloggers who will once again be one in writing about PEACE.

For me, writing about peace is just one step in achieving it because even if one writes about peace but does not live it, then the effort would be futile.

Words are wonderful but actions are more than so.

I Vote for my Friend Rachel :)

First things first, I am voting for Rachel of My Soulful Thoughts for the Bloggers’ Choice Awards for the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards.

I could have written my post here in my main blog where we virtually met. In fact we have had two personal meetings, a lunch and a dinner. The dinner gave us the chance to meet her husband who is incidentally called by the nickname my close friends and family call me.

I chose to cast my vote in this blog because through a weekly post that we do with other bloggers, I have come to know her more not just as a blogger but as a friend.

Anyway, back to Rachel and why I chose to vote for her.

  • First off, I am proud to say that we are real-life friends. Even if we just saw each other twice, I feel really close to her, like she is a long-lost friend.
  • That she loves her son Yohan and her husband casts no doubt to her readers.
  • She is well-known in the blogosphere, especially with her foreign friends. If they are allowed to vote, I know she would have a very big advantage.
  • I have known her through the memetags that we have done. It was not just the link love that brought us together but the fact that she really reads the posts we write and she writes back with intelligent comments.
  • Her sweetness that everyone is talking about? That is true. Her blog posts as well as the comments that she send our way, these are all consistently sweet and nicely worded.
  • We exchange pleasant text messages every now and then.
  • We encourage each other when we are not feeling good.

I see no other reason to not vote for my friend Rachel. She is a winner for me in every sense of the word.

Bloggers Meet Dr Vicki Belo

weekendsnaphot_button.gif

Saturday after work, hubby and the kids brought me to the Belo Medical Center along T.Morato Street for a bloggers event. The Belo Medical Center is the leader when it comes to re-shaping bodies using mostly non-invasive treatments. Click here to visit their website, BeloMed.

We were first told about the history of the medical center by Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr.

Some numbers were presented (which I blurred) along with the presentation of their services.

The beautiful doctor herself, Dr Vicki Belo, personally greeted us and gave a talk about the purpose of having the bloggers invited to their center.

After that, we were told to try some of the treatments that they have there. I opted to try the Power Peel. Click here to read Power Peel.

That’s me, trying the Power Peel. I know, I could also do some other services but this will have to do for now ๐Ÿ™‚

We were also treated to a wonderful dinner at Packo’s Grill.

It was a wonderful night made more special by seeing blogger friends and meeting new ones ๐Ÿ™‚

Good thing I was able to upload these photos in my computer when we got back after the event because we had to reformat my memory stick yesterday.
