We have been amiss going to that place where we can do walking and biking. The weather has been odd these past few weeks and we definitely do not want to be caught in a downpour with nowhere to go to for protection.
With flu (A(H1N1) season almost at its peak, being exposed to the elements is not a priority. Yeah right, even if the mid-body weight seem to be accumulating fast.
Yes, I am in need of physical exercise not just to stretch the legs and be active but to be able to sweat it out.
I once asked hubby if it is a good idea to get that step-exercise machine I saw at a nearby mall or perhaps take a look at the treadmills on display for an alternative physical exercise indoors.
But as I continue bouncing on this TheraBand ball I am sitting on, I came to realize that having fancy exercise machines can’t make me get up and move if i do not haul my *** off this seat and move.
Well, i really need to do that, after I have posted this 😉

I have written about abandoned elderly in this post I have written last Thursday. I have also written about them in another post.
I know it is difficult to take care of the elderly considering the costs of the medication, incontinence supplies and medical check-ups among others. The change of behavior that goes with age is also something that goes with it.
On the other hand, it is good to stop and think about what they have done when they were younger. To the children who have the “burden” of taking care of their elderly parents, have they stop and thought about how their own parents took care of them and their needs?
One of the questions people would probably say is: If not for your parents, would you exist?
There is this story about a mother who gave a coconut husk to her elderly parent, her father, to use as a plate. When her son asked why she is letting the older parent use that, the mother replied that because the older parent is too weak, he might break their plates. The young child then went out to get a coconut and made another husk. When the mother asked what that was for, the child replied the husk was for her to use when she gets older like the grandfather.
So sad.

What is you mission in life? What is the purpose of all your hard work and sacrifices? Yes, all this is for your family but do you have something for those who have less in life?
Ano ang misyon mo sa buhay? Para saan ang mga pinaghihirapan mo? Oo nga at para sa pamilya ito, pero me maitutulong ka din ba sa mga kapus-palad?
This is Lola Toyang, one of the golden ladies living in a community for the elderly. She tells a story of an adopted daughter who abandoned her. She tells of stories about Liverpool and living the high life when she was younger. Behind her is another Lola. Beside them are care giver course students having their in-house training.
Where can they be found? Dito sa Anawim Lay Missions Foundation, Inc., sa Rodriguez, Rizal.
Napunta kami dito minsan para sa isang outreach program ng aming mga homeschooling children.
Swine flu cases are on the rise. Whether the danger is imagined and/or real, we do not relax and let our guard down, especially where the children are concerned.
