Corporate Management

People as individuals or even belonging to certain affiliations through common interests and goals, always try to give their best in whatever endeavors they have set their minds to do.

As modern technology has changed how things are being managed on a day-to-day basis, people also changed how they perform in the workplace.

These changes have also altered the way management style has devised ways to measure the performance of individuals or a collective performance of an organization.

One of those being used to measure the business performance of an organization is called corporate performance management. Corporate performance management understands and influences the performance through processes and measures using metrics and key performance indicators to measure the success of the business.

How does this influence performance? It allows a systematic approach in an integrated way which includes things like planning, analysis and budgeting to help the organization and management come up with better strategies to enhance success in the workplace.

Philippine Traditional Houses

Looking at Philippine traditional houses is one way of knowing the culture of the Filipinos.

The Ifugaos had houses built near their fields. They have a distinct house design which keeps the rats from climbing into the house.

The “common” houses of those who farm the lands in the countryside usually has a space under the house. They have a space where eating utensils can be washed and dried, and it is usually called a banggera*. Nope, no like the fancy farmhouse sinks with lovely designs but simple bamboo slats where the water spills on to the ground below. The cooking station was downstairs where food was cooked using cut wood and clay pots. We take turns blowing into a metal tube/pipe so that the fire will be kept alive. At least, it was what I remember with my maternal grandparents house and I wish I have photos.

I also remember that my maternal grandparents’ house was like the picture below and more. Under the house where there was a big space, the onions hang on the ropes. Tobacco leaves for drying were hung my by grandfather. And there is a small hammock which we grandchildren take turns to sit on and rock the afternoons away. Sometimes my grandfather would sit on the swing after a hard day’s work at the farm. Or he can be seen rolling white thin paper to make his own cigars from the dry tobacco leaves.

This space usually has multi-purpose uses.

The Nipa Hut can also be colorful during fiestas, where the signs of festivities like the banderitas** adorn the windows and doors.

Happy Birthday, My Big Baby Girl

Today is the birthday of my eldest daughter.

She will be turning 13 and I know, we know, that this is a milestone.

Gone are the baby clothes that she used to wear. Gone are the cute baby shoes too, as well as the cute hair clips that used to adorn her hair. Cute little baby girl, yes she used to be one.

She prefers jeans and shirts now. The cute baby shoes have been replaced by comfortable shoes or by colorful flip-flops. The cute hair clips? No more because she prefers to just let her hair hang on her shoulders. Practical, that is what she is now.

Now that my hubby and I are entering a new phase in our parenting experience, we try to make things easier for all of us. Yes, we try hard to do so.

Sunday Mornings at UP Diliman

weekendsnaphot_button1.gif

Sunday mornings at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City is bustling with activities. Not that there are classes but the activities show people having fun and relaxing in an atmosphere of quiet among majestic trees.

Biking people, walking people and picnicking people can be found. Guy with red shirt on the bike is my hubby.

Aside from that, people engage in different sports like badminton, frisbee throwing, soccer, skateboarding, and tennis. There are tai chi groups too and other local sports like the arnis.

There are also those who fly kites, depending on the weather.

Most people take walks and runs or jogs. They seem to be enjoying these activities and most have earphones plugged to their ears to help them get in the mood. If these walking and running are done on a daily basis, maybe there is no need for Ephedrasil hardcore to burn those fats, if they religiously do these fitness regimen. That includes me too.

There are lots of families that can be seen here, enjoying time to be together.

This is a good place to unwind and just enjoy nature and quiet.

Cars in the City

Having a car is a necessity if one lives in the city and the workplace is not easily accessible to the home front.

On the other hand, it can also be a liability because there are just so many payments, services and purchases one has to make in order to keep a car up and running. Sometimes, one feels he is better off not having a car at all especially when the bills pile up.

For one, car payments. The usual scheme for new car owners getting a brand-new car is that auto insurance is included when they purchase a car. Better have this handy especially when one does city driving.

What about engine troubles, car repairs, paint jobs, car wash, and audio gadgets? The list is just endless about motoring trends.

To know the latest in motoring trends, we try to go to car shows, once or maybe twice a year.

There is just something about ogling at cars, whether brand new like this Nissan 350z below,

or a car that has been brand-new years ago but has been modified or “set-up” according to my son, like one of my son’s favorite cars, the Nissan Sylvia or S14, that make one feels good, even if there was no purchase made 🙂
