New Priorities after Ondoy

Rehabilitation seems to be the correct word to use in terms of dealing with the massive losses that happened during Ondoy‘s wrath.

For some, gone are the cars that were either submerged in flood waters or seen floating away from the point of origin. Gone are the soft beds, the treasured books, tech gadgets, HDTV, important documents, and other things that seem important before the deluge came.

Now what?

It seems that there is a shift in the priorities after what has happened.

Now it is more about family, being together, helping those who are in need and cooperation.

Wonderful, just wonderful.

Now, would those looters stop their illegal activities now? Harrumph!

Still on Typhoon-related Issues

Panic buying. Health issues. Flooding.

These are just some of the issues that this country has to deal with and I think I haven’t even scratched the surface.

One of the major concerns are the bodies being retrieved due to death from the flash floods.

I am wondering though if having a mortgage life insurance would assure one of having to deal with these things easier.

And God help us as we brace ourselves to face another supertyphoon.

Makabagong Palengke

litratongpinoy

Ang palengke. Bow.

Aba, sa takbo ng mga pangyayari, bawat kanto yata meron nang tindahang “We’ve got it all for you”. So, saan  ka pa?

WordCamp Philippines 2009

WordCamp Philippines  2009 was  a mixture of different resource speakers who gave interesting talks. Congratulations to the organizers. Woot, woot!

Beau Lebens represented WordPress. Beau’s presentation can be read here.

Markku Seguerra presented WordPress in the wild with topics about deployment,  performance, optimization and security.

I enjoyed Danny Arao’s lecture on being responsible bloggers.

I guess a lot of  bloggers need to be reminded that not because they have the freedom to express their opinions mean that need not practice restraint. And tact. ‘Nuff said.

Seth Bindernagel spoke about the localization of Mozilla. This is Seth’s presentation as seen in Scribd. Translation in Filipino?  Hmmm…

Jeff of VisitSagada.com talked about writing and blogging and yes, it is advisable to “not burn bridges and be nice”. Positivity rules.

Gail Villanueva (her presentation is here) and Karla Redor talked about things tags, CMS,  plugins, custom field, and the like. (Pass the tissue please, am having a nosebleed, hehe)

My Litratong Pinoy (Shirt) Goes to Wordcamp Philippines 2009

Featuring my LitratongPinoy.com shirt goes to Wordcamp Philippines 2009 last September 19, 2009 at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City.

LitratongPinoy.com shirt

Yes, I may look headless there but its ok, lol.

I like this idea of the LitratongPinoy.com featuring the members wearing or perhaps bringing along their LP shirts in the different places that they go to.

I would even bring this with me if I have the chance to book in one of the hotels in Panama City Florida. I wish 😀
