May Liwanag Nga Ba?

Its Thursday once again. Time for Litratong Pinoy which serves as my “weekly editorial” for this blog.

The theme for this week is LIWANAG meaning light or the absence of darkness.

I thought that this post’s title “May Liwanag Nga Ba” reflects best the global financial crunch that we are experiencing.

People are losing their jobs, their homes, and their bright futures are suddenly dimmed. The financial woes are not stopping.

People are altering their lifestyles to be able to survive with lesser resources and if possible, save some for the rainy days.

People are panicking, withdrawing their investments and bank deposits and putting these in what they think are “safe” places, away from the banks whose integrity they now doubt.

The worst is not in sight and if what the financial analysts say that this is just the beginning of a financial Armageddon, how would we know the answer to “Where do we go from here?”

I hope you have not felt that you have over-extended yourself during these times.

Baclayon Church

Baclayon Church in Baclayon, Bohol is said to be the oldest coral stone church in the region and one of the oldest churches in Asia. This is one of the main tourist destinations in the province of Bohol.

Behind the church is a museum where old artifacts and images of saints can be seen.

Beside the church is Immaculata High School founded by my late father-in-law who was a parish priest of the said church.

Milk Scare

We have all been scared with the controversy about milk products and milk from China. Somehow we, especially the mothers, were affected that this has changed the way we lived for some time. Or maybe we still harbor those fears in our hearts.

The government does its work in investigating the problems but it is still up to us to do what we think is best.

So now that the news reports have released the partial list of milk and milk products that can be safely consumed, I ask you this question:

Do you think NOW is really the time to patronize our locally made milk and milk products or would you still trust products manufactured in other countries?

My answer:

Bird on a Water Tank

This was taken last Friday morning while we were at the MIL’s place. I was waiting for that big bird that I have been hearing every time I am at my MIL’s place to come into view but my waiting was in vain because it did not appear or I was just too “blind” to see where it was. I was happy enough to get this photo though.

Weekend was spent staying in because the man of the house was not feeling well.

Have a great week, everyone 🙂

Bilog na Naman ang Buwan

Who remembers the song of Tropical Depression “Bilog na Naman ang Buwan? You know, that reggae band who can make you sing and dance alongside their upbeat songs?

Why did I ask If you know this song? Its because of my entry, the photo of the moon, a nice black and white combination. I love looking at the moon though if I do that for a long time, I might end up either with a stiff neck or end up looking like I’m nuts. This is one of my family’s favorite thing to look at the sky, the full moon. The photo below is not of good quality since I didn’t use a tripod.

Happy Thursday everyone! 🙂
