Today is the birthday of my dear friend PJA.
She is Ninang to my eldest daughter and Tita to my two younger children.
To her students/patients, she is Teacher.
For me she is not just an extra-ordinaire speech-language pathologist which this country as lost due to migration but she is an ultimate friend. We understand each other’s quirks and eccentricities. We cry about the same things and cackle like witches about the same things too.
We have been friends when the craze for cross-stitching started in this country and we both had this design. I do not remember what color you used for your ballerina, please forgive me. Here is a part of my project, as I know you haven’t seen yours for a long time:
I do not have a gift for you. I can not even call you for we just stayed in today and the store where I get my mobile phone credits has been closed since yesterday. Poor excuses, you might say. Fact is, we didn’t even go to church today.
I will just offer you my virtual gifts:
A simple solitary flower. Its not even a rose nor a bunch of flowers. This is just like you, no, not ordinary but otherwise. You can be that little sunshine that can brighten everyone’s day.
Pasta Carbonara. I have learned to make this because of the recipe you gave me. I want you to know that the family loves this.
We miss you.
Be well and we hope you had a wonderful birthday today 🙂
