Oh, yes, another sunset photo. Taken from a moving car along Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway or SCTEx yesterday. This is one major highway that I wouldn’t mind traveling on. Trip is very pleasant and the view is wonderful. View my other Weekend Snapshot here.

Dito sa Pilipinas, mainam magpalipad ng saranggola kapag Pebrero.

Here in the Philippines, it is great to fly kites during February.

Dito sa taas na Shell Flower Terraces sa La Mesa Eco Park, napakalamig ng hangin.

Here on top of the Shell Flower Terraces at the Le Mesa Eco Park, the air is so cool. Read here about my picnic with other mommy bloggers.

Sunset

I didn’t know that it was “fiesta” where we live. Fiesta means when the Catholic faithful flock to the church to celebrate a saint’s special day. Then households prepare food for the visitors who will visit them.

It was a nice weather yesterday and I can hear shouts of laughter and cheers as children play games on the street somewhere in the vicinity where we live. I wanted to go out and watch them and perhaps take photos but the bum in me decided to not go out under the scorching sun. Hubby and I did go out, as the sun was setting, to go to mass. Yes, we stayed in again, since the kids are not here and there seemed to be no reason to go anywhere (if they are here, they prefer to stay in too) since we have everything we need in the house, food and new DVDs 🙂

Here is a sunset photo that I took as I stepped out of the front door:

By the way, I have started a no fuss, no frills weekly meme called Weekly Questions (and you can read my first entry by clicking the Weekly Question 1 post on my left sidebar under Recent Posts). To those interested to join, please click here.

Thank you and have a great week 🙂

Walang Tubig. No Water.

This, more often than not, is how the ONLY functioning faucet in our home looks like. No, the other faucets (we have 7 more) are not in need of replacements. To even say that only that faucet outside, in front of the front door is the ONLY ONE where water comes out probably does not begin to describe how much we value this precious commodity.

The water system where we live is so pathetic we only have water at the most five times a week, for a few hours in the morning and another few hours in the afternoon, from 2pm till around 8pm.Yeah, we arrive home from work around 8:30pm, sometimes even later. That silver thing on the bottom right? That is a big basin which we use to catch the water to be transferred in the bathrooms, big container for washing the plates and a bigger container as a water reservoir (yeah right).

Tubig, aming tubig
Ang tulo mo’y sing-dalang
Ng patak ng luha o
Kaya naman sing-hina ng ihi ng bata.

Ano ba talaga
Ang iyong problema,
Di alintana,
Kung nakaligo na o hindi pa.

Yaring mga sahig,
Nanlilimahid na,
At ang aso nama’y
nanganamoy na.

Totoo po ito,
Ilang beses sa isang lingo,
Ang pagtulo ng aming gripo.

Konting oras sa umaga at
Konting oras sa gabi.
Sa labas na lamang,
Wala na sa loob.

Where Have All the Sunflowers Gone?

weekendsnaphot_button2.gif

img_1558b.jpg

Blurred photo, taken from a moving vehicle. Those yellow green plants without leaves and flowers? These used to be sunflowers. We have been experiencing rains during the summer and I expected these plants to perish since these thrive in the heat and sunshine. But the sunflower plants just lost their leaves and flowers and are still standing straight and tall. Baffling, isn’t it?

Here is another entry for Weekend Snapshots.
