Nagmo-Motorsiklo Ka Ba?

Ang disiplina o ang kawalan nito.

quirino highway

Bow.

Motorcycle Safety

Hubby’s motorcycle had a bit of a problem last week.

He was able to scour motorcycle shops for something he needed to make it run. No, it does not have any mechanical breakdown insurance of sorts so he pays for whatever is broken and what needs to be repaired.

I do not particularly like the thought of him riding that two-wheeled ride because I fear for his safety. Sometimes he does not seem to see my reasons why I feel as such.

I trust his driving skills and quick judgment but I do not trust the other drivers on the road.

There I said it.

Reckless

Reckless.

That is what I can describe a big number of motorcycle drivers here in the country.

I have written entries about it here and here but I don’t get tired of saying these things that I have observed time and again, day after day:

  • these motorcycle drivers weave in and out of street lanes
  • they do not wear the proper protective gears like armor jacket, knee and shin protectors, back (and kidney) protectors and sturdy helmets
  • yes, they have helmets but they wear it on their arms/elbows, duh?
  • they have two or three passengers with them and that includes children

These protective gears are VERY expensive, I agree, but what could be more expensive than that but lives on the line?
