Lilang Balabal

Purple/Violet is the theme for this week’s Litratong Pinoy.

Uso sa panahong me kaginawan ang gumamit ng balabal (pero sa kasong ito, parang tela lang to at hindi korteng tatsulok). Kahit nga hindi malamig, marami akong nakikitang gumagamit nito. Bakit kanyo? 😀

The “in” thing to use during cold weather is the shawl although it just looks like a piece of cloth and not exactly a shawl with the triangular shape. Even if its not very cold, I see a lot of women using this. Why? They wear sleeveless clothes but because their arms are a bit fat, they use the shawl to cover the flab. I am guilty of having such arms, so I would rather not wear sleeveless clothes only to cover my arms. Ooops, my bad! 😀

That is our youngest child with her older brother, wearing the purple shawl of our eldest child. This photo was taken when the homeschoolers celebrated United Nations’ Day. They are looking at things representing South America. They are wearing “island” get-up because we belong to the Oceania group.

Maligayang Huwebes po!

Dancing to the Year of the Ox

Last night we (my two younger children and I) were able to watch dance performances depicting the Chinese culture in the mall where we usually spend an hour or two every Monday and Wednesday before we go home with the hubby.

Anyway, the performances were good and good thing I have a camera with me in my bag as I always do so I was able to take some photos. These performances were in celebration of the Chinese New Year which is celebrating the Year of the Ox.

Some of the dancers were barefoot while some wore flat shoes. There were those who wore high heels and I was afraid they might trip and fall on the wood flooring because some parts of the stage were moving when they move.

Good thing none of what I was thinking happened. Whew!

Skin Care

There are so many skin care products that are available in the market today that choosing one is not an easy task.

First, one has to know what type of skin he/she has to be able to know what products are safe to use. Not because these products are being advertised mean these are good.

I have asked blogging and real-life friends about their facial regimens a few months back.

They gave wonderful tips on how to prevent acne and/or how to have acne treatments. There were some complicated regimens and there were just simple regimens shared.

For starter, nothing beats a relaxed lifestyle though that is probably next to impossible with a lot of people and having nutritious food available.

Suman at Manggang Hinog

Orange, the color, is the theme for this week’s Litratong Pinoy. Of course, I wanted to put a photo of an orange fruit so that is fits the theme right? I guess not. For those who know me well, they know I dislike the color orange and fuschia pink so I do not have things belonging to me with that color.

Gasoline Prices

We, along with millions of other motorists who consume gasoline as we commute to and from work daily have been very wary of the prices of petroleum products last year.

From an all-time high, we are now enjoying a relatively low price, which we hope (cross our fingers and hope to the high heavens) will stay for some time. Well, I guess not since major oil companies in the country has gave feelers about a price hike. Hmph.

One of my son’s favorite things to do while we are on the road would be to look at the prices of the these products on the digital signage posted in front of the different gasoline stations we pass. He can say which gasoline stations offer the cheapest per liter 🙂

The other day he got worried when he didn’t see the red numbers in a gasoline station that he likes to look at because there were no numbers where there are supposed to be. Uh-oh! I hope they will not be changing their prices for a higher one soon.
