Bilog na Naman ang Buwan

Who remembers the song of Tropical Depression “Bilog na Naman ang Buwan? You know, that reggae band who can make you sing and dance alongside their upbeat songs?

Why did I ask If you know this song? Its because of my entry, the photo of the moon, a nice black and white combination. I love looking at the moon though if I do that for a long time, I might end up either with a stiff neck or end up looking like I’m nuts. This is one of my family’s favorite thing to look at the sky, the full moon. The photo below is not of good quality since I didn’t use a tripod.

Happy Thursday everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

Angono Petroglyphs

We have been to the Angono Petroglyphs 2 years ago, me, my hubby and our son. Our two daughters were vacationing then with my parents so they weren’t able to go with us.

The Angono Petroglyhs is said to be the oldest known art in the Philippines, dating back 3000 B.C. There are different figures drawn there, a turtle being one of the most prominent figures that can be recognizable.

Presidential Decree 260 declared the site as a National Cultural Treasure.

It was not quite easy to go there. One has to go through a gated community where security guards will ask for the driver’s license to be left at the gate.

Then one has to walk a ways to be able get to the site.It was a bit of an effort for us because we got to the place at high noon and the kids were complaining ๐Ÿ˜€

(For those who are taking diet pills because they are a little heavy on the side , this calls for some exerted effort and would be a good way to sweat it out.)

Visitors have to go through a man-made tunnel that was carved through a hill.

Then register with the guard manning the mini-museum which used to house paintings but now just a few of the fossilized finds can be found.

Here is one photo of the site:

Yes, vandals do exist and they managed to write their names on the site, alongside the old drawings but I will not put the photo here and advertise their names. What a shame.

Countryside Living

One of the advantages in living near the countryside is almost being in one with nature. Flowers, trees, the fields, even the sky, are one’s view anytime of the day. The air is fresh too and oftentimes sweet. At night, the stars are much brighter too.

Living in the countryside enables one to be sufficient. Fresh produce can be harvested from the backyard. Eggs from chickens are fresh and so is the milk from animals. Meat too from cattle and fowls can be had for fresh.

Ilog Maria Sting-less Citronella Insect Repellent with Propolis

Yes, quite a mouthful actually.

The Ilog Maria Sting-less Citronella Insect Repellent with Propolis repels mosquitoes without chemical since it uses plant oils.

Why use this? With dengue fever cases rising and seems like the end is not in sight, it is better to be safe than sorry.

Sunday Nature Trip

early-morning-sky.jpg

I was a bit frustrated for I wanted to see the sun rise over the mountains. But we had a slow start so the sun was already rising when we were still in the house.

We traveled anyway and seemed to waste gas along the way.

As we did so, we saw lush green mountains, which were a part of the Sierra Madre Mountain Range, said to be the longest mountain range in the country.

The roads started to twist and turn as we burned fuel. I don’t really mind, we were enjoying the scenery.

Oh no! It is starting to rain. How will I take photos? How will we have our outdoor breakfast?

We didn’t get our outdoor picnic breakfast. I wasn’t able to take the photos I wanted but we got this:

Nature really is full of surprises ๐Ÿ™‚

We also went to another wonderful place not frequented by people but that would be for another post.

(There was a nasty accident involving a motorcycle rider before or after that turn in the second photo. The ride was really in bad shape and the rider was lying along the road with his fellow riders. I hope he is ok. There have been a lot of motorcycle-related accidents in this area I am wondering they weren’t banned from going this way. They could getย  really fast on these twisties and tend to overdrive and have accidents. I shudder thinking about this when my husband rides with his buddies to this place.)
