It was Father’s day yesterday.
We just stayed in the whole day and had home cooked breakfast and lunch. We went to hear mass late in the afternoon. We also went out to dinner, kids’ choice and they chose this:
The theme for this week is KALAYAAN or FREEDOM. I have already written about this theme here in my TeacherJulie.com blog, a short hindsight about the history of our country. Please click this link that has a lot of photos and short snippets of history, thank you very much.
For me, freedom is a mindset. It is a situation where the person himself will decide if he is truly free.
Me dignidad pa ba tayo bilang isang bansa?
There are so many chains that deter us from achieving the freedom that we would like to attain: corruption, poverty, crime, drug abuse and other misdeeds that make us feel weak and inferior within ourselves, with being Filipinos, and inferior as a nation. Do we still have our dignity as a nation?
The Independence Day commemoration was not respected by this government, so how would this country expect its citizens to respect this important day in out history? Today, June 12 is our INDEPENDENCE DAY, not the other day. Even the children are confused.
Pilipinas, saan tayo patutungo?
We almost had a disaster Saturday night when the electric cables erupted here and there. People were panicking for that was no joke. We dont have our telephone lines yet. I am posting a photo of people out on the streets, pardon the dark photo.
Big thanks to Wenchie for calling the electric company who came to fix the wires, after several hours. Hmph. Houses could have been burned by then. Good thing firetrucks were on standby.

Getting married is not a laughing matter. Just considering the expenses would make the would-be couple think twice. The couple who will soon tie the knot are focused on the things they have to prepare for their wedding ceremony.
Handa na ba ang mga bulaklak?
Are the bouquet of flowers ready?
Napili na ba ang simbahan?
Has the church been chosen?

Oh, yes, another sunset photo. Taken from a moving car along Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway or SCTEx yesterday. This is one major highway that I wouldn’t mind traveling on. Trip is very pleasant and the view is wonderful. View my other Weekend Snapshot here.
