Not Impressive Enough

Do you have an “impressive” address where you can proudly display address plaques?

We don’t because the name of our place is a vernacular term for… never mind.

Yes, if it’s economically possible, we would have a different address by now, not because we don’t love the home but because we are not fond of the neighborhood. I’ve written about this a lot of times. If only we can bring the house if in case we have an opportunity to move, we’ll probably do so but that’s impossible of course.

Just the other day, the small retail or sari-sari store across us had been robbed: teenagers went in and got three mobile phones and a PSP. They were apparently staying under one of the trees near the water meter with a metal cage beside our home before they “attacked”. These teenagers are from the slum area a block or two away from us.

Scary isn’t it?

Yikes!

Conjugated linoleic acid is for weight loss? I’m not that knowledgeable with the different weight management fads and trends no matter how many times I’ve written about this topic because this is one of the things that I think a lot of aside from budget management, LOL.

If only thinking about the budget management makes me lose weight, then I would have been a skinny woman by now.

Speaking about budget management, the hubby once remarked that looking at the various online discount vouchers site I have accounts with will make an even poorer person than I already am. I don’t really buy a lot of these vouchers, only those that I know will make us contented.

As it is, I’ve heard that one or two of these local sites (glad I don’t have an account with these two, yey) have been having a lot of “oh no!” and facepalm reactions and not to mention angry customers.

Time like these, I wouldn’t want to be the company’s customer service rep. Yikes!

Goodbye Summer

The country is currently being bashed by the third (not sure but since the typhoon’s name starts with a C, maybe it’s the third) typhoon to hit the area. So yes, typhoon or not, we are officially saying “Goodbye Summer”. Swimsuits, swim gears, equestrian boots, sports uniforms and art materials are taking a back seat now for school supplies, books, uniforms, and yes, the dreaded HW: homework.

Schools are opening two weeks from now. The children are not ready yet to go back to school such as I’m not yet ready to go back to my 4am wake-up call to cook for packed lunch.

Time to go back to saving time and energy which for me means taking afternoon naps when I can.

So, students and parents alike, are you ready for the new school year?

Lonely Ride

We had an early start yesterday morning. The long early morning drive was a bit boring, save for some music playing. I would have wanted to sleep but I’m not comfortable sleeping when in transit, except when I am extremely tired.

Early Morning

We also listened to the early morning news chatter and truthfully, I’m glad we weren’t stuck in traffic like other commuters. We just switched to music when the topics discussed were not that relevant to us. Some of the topics we listened to that were discussed were the return of a senator after months (or was it more than  a year) of not appearing because he has a case, Japan tsunami effects, hgh releasers and summer fun activities for the kids.

Going home was a lonely ride too, because the night was extra dark and the drizzles didn’t help perk up the mood. I was sleeping on and off on our way home and was glad when we arrived safely.

Was it worth the long hours on the road? Of course! I got to spend a few hours with my parents and children vacationing with them. Our youngest child was left behind though.
