My Elusive Netbook Find

I have written about my need to purchase a netbook here and here.

I have read countless netbook reviews.

Last Sunday I was at it again. Looking at an Acer (like hubby’s netbook), a pink Toshiba (netbook, not the full-sized one), a Vaio  and a Mac when we went to a mall’s cyber center to buy ink for the printer.

Mac? Yep, even the kids said it looks different, feels different and more cool than other brands.

I’m afraid though that if I don’t get one soon, the budget would go to another major financial obligation, payment for tuition fee. Sigh, such is the life. Oh, the lure of an Android too is a strong one for me,

I’d better look for online contests soon, who knows I might win something there 😀

Electronic Flooding

Electronic flooding is a term (I think I read this term somewhere) applicable for a lot of people and you could be one of them. How?

Are you one of those who, upon waking up, check their emails first or go online to read about the latest happening worldwide?

Do you eat breakfast or lunch or dinner or all these meals with your mobile phone or netbook turned on beside your plate?

Must you know who commented or what comments came in your posted status update in your favorite social networking sites?

If you said “yes” to these, then you are definitely hooked on your gadgets.

Yes, not only do you accumulate these plethora of electronics but you are hooked to these like these are your lifeline. And when you have been away from your gadget for several minutes, you feel like everything will go wrong and the sky would fall down on you. An exaggeration of course but then again, this could be true.

When was the last time you ever finished a book? A real book?

When was the last time you sent and received a hand-written letter? When was the last time you turned off your gadget to concentrate on playing with your child(ren) and spending real bonding with them?

Electronic flooding makes the brain lose focus. Read on and see what it does to your brain. And mine too.

Crocs, Foursquare and Farmville Among Time’s 50 Worst Inventions

I know a lot of Crocs, Foursquare and Farmville fans/users will not like the inclusion of these three products in Time.com The 50 Worst Inventions.

I don’t have a pair of Crocs. I don’t want to broadcast my location to the whole world through Foursquare. I don’t waste time tending to my virtual farm.

Ok I admit, I still have a virtual farm but I have been a negligent farmer for a long time already. I’d rather do something about my age spots than plow and plant in my virtual farm.

Which reminds me, the house needs a thorough cleaning and I will get to that as soon as I am done cooking in my virtual restaurant  😀

Online Shopping with Ayos Dito

School year 2010 – 2011 will be starting two weeks from now and we are on the look-out for school supplies. Being home-bound on most days, I thought of looking for these things we need online and turned to classified ads just in case I won’t be able to go to the mall to buy what the children need.

And I found this bag over at AyosDito.ph.

For a price of PhP1,000, it is a good bargain because the bag looks roomy to contain all my son’s books and yet looks sturdy enough to last through the school year. Plus I don’t have to get tired going to the mall and choosing the best bag from so many alternatives to choose from. Expenses can double too especially with the children going with me and wanting to dine there.
