“Don’t Discriminate”, says BB Gandanghari during the Bloggers Meet And Greet

Saturday afternoon we had the chance not just to meet and greet BB Gandanghari but to ask questions as well. This was made possible by Filipina Images (specifically Noemi and Dine)and the Philippine Online Chronicles or the POC.

For those who are wondering who BB Gandanghari is, she is now the persona known formerly as Rustom Padilla. Yes, that handsome matinee idol.

BB is articulate and she answers questions straight to the point. She has a sense of humor too and not to mention a great fashion sense.

I asked whether BB if there were any face-to-face in your face nasty remarks thrown at her and she said that she is happy that nothing like that has happened. The only “nasty” remark said was when she used the female restroom in one of the hip places in the Metro.

He thanked us bloggers for taking time out to see her for whatever reasons we have and to ask questions and for meeting her in person.

One of the things said that captured my interest was this line: “Change is good”

And to that I say, yes, change is good.

Pulang Polo

Huwebes na naman, Litratong Pinoy ulit na me temang BLUSA/POLO. Dahil hindi ako mahilig sa blusa, polo na lang ang ilalagay kong tema. Its Thursday once again and its time for Litratong Pinoy with the theme BLOUSE/POLO. Since I am not fond of wearing blouses, I decided to use polo instead.

Heto pong mamang naka-polong pula o pulang polo  😀  ay ang aking kabiyak na nakasakay sa bisikletang me training wheels. The man wearing red polo is my husband who is riding on a bicycle with training wheels.

Marunong naman po siyang magbisikleta ng para sa mga matatanda, katunayan, nandito siya sa isang collage ng isa pang photo meme na sinasalihan ko. Napag-“tripan” lang niya patawanin ang mga bata. Ayun, siyempre, tawa kaming tawa kasi hinahabol siya ni bunso sabay sigaw ng “Hey, come back, give me that!”

He can ride a bicycle and as a matter of fact, he can be seen in this collage that I made for another photo meme that I participate in. He just wanted to make the children laugh and have fun. We were in stitches when this was happening because our youngest child was running after him shouting “Hey, come back, give me that!”

Summer Fun

Hot and humid.

Summer shopping list.

Summer vacation.

These are what my posts are all about these past few days. And why not, everyone is complaining about the heat and humidity because summer has started already and our very brief honeymoon with the cool weather (like this) was yes, very brief and sorely missed.

It may be that the summer heat is being felt in this part of the world, still, summer comes upon us year after year no matter where we are.

So the Weekly Question asks you about summer vacation:

What are fun summer activities you do with your family?

My answer:

My Friend G

G is a very close friend, an only child, an accountant, who went abroad to work as a caregiver to help with the expenses of her ailing father.

Yes, filial responsibilities fall heavy on the shoulders of children of Chinese heritage in this country, and this is true too to most of us Filipinos.

It was really sad when her father died and she was not able to come home to say her goodbyes to him, one of the reasons she went overseas to look for better paying work.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

The book which I decided to read first before I watch (the still unwatched by me) chic flick, made me cringed several times because I was embarrassed for Becky, yes I truly am!

I wouldn’t have wanted to be in her position (except when her “fortune” was reversed of course) with all those bills piling up and yes, these would really happen NOT because of cheap credit card processing but because of lack of self-control and foresight and planning.

But then again, I can’t say I won’t be like her since I don’t have a credit card and if I do, I should really know how to take a rein with my money-less expenses. I have control over my expenses because I mostly pay in cash so I know when and when not to buy especially when there is nothing left in the wallet.

What about you?
