Goodbye Summer?

The weather bureau announced (I think) the end of the summer season so we expect cooler weather because of the rains.

Overall, the tropical Pacific is cooling gradually and the return to neutral conditions may be expected this June 2010.

Still we experience extreme heat. We try to alleviate the heat by opening the big windows and letting in air to improve home ventilation. But for every action there is a specific reaction.

In this case, opening the window means hearing noisy people who have nothing to do but sit under the trees on the side of the property to cool off from the heat. Gah! I.totally.not.like.these.tambays*.

*Tambays = short term for standby in the vernacular

Messy Room

The inflatable swimming pool of the kids is inside the house, right smack in the middle of the living room, among the contemporary furniture.

Good thing no one comes over for a visit or they would be shocked to see some litter in the pool. We have been doing some inventory of the school supplies and some of the discarded items are placed there for disposal once the yard-cleaning lady comes in. She gets some books and school supplies from us.

I really hope to clear the living room up this week, if only I have the time and energy (the heat is so unbearable at 38 degrees C) to do so.

Magic Tree House Series

Numero, bow. Yan ang hilig ng anak kong lalaki.

Bare Front Yard

The front yard is bare, except for a little patch of grass that managed to survive the summer heat. The grass has withered, my vegetable plants did too. Except for a big water container and sometimes the occasional inflatable pool the children use, there is not much to see and to look at.

We really need outdoor decor.

We have plans to do so but I don’t think we would love to use these outdoor furniture without having to build a roof to protect us from extreme heat and/or the rains during the rainy months.

Oh, I know I wouldn’t want to hear those noisy neighborhood children while I’m trying to relax outdoors so maybe I will just scrap that plan for now.

Under the Trees

The trees near the house are all green and in “full bloom

Much as I love the shade which we don’t have much use save for providing covering from the sun’s heat, it would be definitely fun to have picnic lunches under these trees using outdoor rugs.

It would be fun bird watching there.

Alas, the dog’s cage is under the trees. Outside the perimeter fence, the neighbors put their benches and sit under the shade, at times bringing their food ( and hard drinks) and making noise.

Do I tell them to stop? Would I dare to because they are disturbing the peace? if I do, I am the one who is haughty and arrogant.
