Bare Front Yard

The front yard is bare, except for a little patch of grass that managed to survive the summer heat. The grass has withered, my vegetable plants did too. Except for a big water container and sometimes the occasional inflatable pool the children use, there is not much to see and to look at.

We really need outdoor decor.

We have plans to do so but I don’t think we would love to use these outdoor furniture without having to build a roof to protect us from extreme heat and/or the rains during the rainy months.

Oh, I know I wouldn’t want to hear those noisy neighborhood children while I’m trying to relax outdoors so maybe I will just scrap that plan for now.

Excuses to Have a Netbook

I think I need to have a netbook. My laptop is uber heavy and uber big causing my aching arms/shoulders to further feel pain.

aspire

This is the husband’s Acer Aspire which I sometimes borrow whenever I need to go somewhere. I love the long battery life and lightness which is just perfect to carry around. Of course the small screen size might do further damage to my already blurred vision (I don’t need reading glasses yet, thank you very much, πŸ˜€ ) but I am not scared since the fonts can be made bigger when needed.

Excuses. They’re not πŸ˜‰

Do You Take Nutritional Supplements?

It is very important for pregnant women to take prenatal vitamins. Why? Because the body is undergoing a lot of changes and is adjusting to having a baby in the womb. It is important to keep the pregnant woman healthy and her baby too.

Come to think of it, it is not only during pregnancy that women should take nutritional supplements. Moms especially those who are working should take these supplements so that they have some resistance to illnesses. They should also be actively taking these supplements for them to have enough endurance to do the things they have to accomplish.

And on this note, I will now have my breakfast and take my calcium supplements and ascorbic acid. My arms’ bones are creaking already πŸ™

Homeschoolers No More

My kids are first-timers as school children. We have reached a consensus that they will go to school this school year. I have high hopes that they will have an easier time shifting from homeschooling to regular schooling since they are familiar with the school and big sis is also enrolled there.

For sure they will have to adjust to different things and some are:

  1. wake up schedule since they will have to wake up real early to catch the school bus
  2. school furniture since they will have to use desks and not sit on the sofa when they read their books or do seatworks on the dining table
  3. uniforms since they can’t go to school in their jammies
  4. eating packed lunches

I’m sure there are a whole lot more they will need to adjust to but I am hopeful that they will pull through πŸ™‚

The Couch Needs Some Help

I was looking at some pics when I noticed several tears on the living room couch. Hmmm… to think we don’t even sit there.

Whenever we go to our favorite department store, the kids and I enjoy looking at the furniture there. The couches always attract the most attention from us. Perhaps we know that our current couch needed some improvements to be done. New slipcovers perhaps or side tables?

I know that secretly we wish we could get a new couch but that is not even in the list of priorities.

Perhaps this is the perfect time to shop for a good slipcover cloth design. While there I can perhaps see what would be good for curtains and bedsheets.

What a nice excuse to go to the bargain stores! πŸ˜€
