Lost Ring

She has waited for a long time to finally get a special ring. Not that she didn’t try, the ring is just not available in the stores where this could be bought. By she I mean my eldest child and by ring I mean this ring.

Yes, she loves rings.

Boredom made my daughter take photos of her favorite ring and I am glad she did because a few days after the photos were taken, the ring got lost.

And now we hunt again for that elusive ring.

Massage for Children

Every night when I tuck the children for bed, they ask me to put lotion on their leg and arms as their “nightly massage”. My younger daughter (who didn’t go to school today because she has a low-grade fever) joked if there is a citronella face cream.

I don’t know where she got the idea, perhaps because she saw me reading the net to see what is the best night cream to use.

I asked her why she asked that and she explained so that the face wouldn’t get bitten by the dreaded dengue mosquito. Yes, we use Citronella Insect Repellent to hopefully keep those mosquitoes away.

Anyway, these nightly massages do not only make our bond stronger, massaging also makes children happy and connected to their loved ones. Plus they get to relax more and enjoy their sleep 🙂

Commercialization

There’s no denying the fact that once the -BER months are here, Christmas decors like tree decors, C6 led Christmas lights, gift suggestions and even greeting cards can be seen in malls. Christmas songs too are being played in public places.

Why ever not? In malls specifically, the music inspires people to think of what they would be buying for the coming season of commercialism giving.

Since my children are in school, I can now start to experiment on various baked goodies and make preparations for another round of Frugal Christmas.

Times have really changed. Gone are the days when children answer that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. Now they look forward to Christmas because this special day is the day they open loads of gifts.

Birthdays are Milestones

Children’s birthday parties are super fun to attend, whether one has a child or not.

Of course, themed birthday parties can be a bit expensive on the part of the guests but hey, birthdays (especially FIRST birthdays) are milestones and should be celebrated.

face painting

The works: face painting, tattoo, balloons, magic show, birthday cupcakes and so much more to keep the guests entertained. Of course, goody bags to take home the fun 😀

I also look forward to receiving Christmas party invitations, ooops, I mean birthday party invitations because these “signal” the anticipation of fun. Am not excited for Christmas to arrive, no I’m not.

party

Parties however, give me a bit of a tinge of sadness because my children have not had grand parties to celebrate their milestones. I hope they won’t think I love them less because we were not able to provide these parties for them.

Happy first birthday to baby Jia. You are now officially a toddler. to Lani and Joel, let the chasing begin!
