Secret Blog

I’ve recently started a new blog but that is still a “secret” blog for now because I plan to put some posts first before I make it public.Yes, I’m announcing I have a secret blog, toinks!

I’ve been debating with myself whether it is going to be a beauty products related blog for which I still have a lot to learn more. I’m not that big on buying beauty products for my needs are simple (read: I’m not high maintenance when it comes to this aspect) enough.

The blog topic I chose was therefore not that topic above. I know my topic of choice is one that many has for their blogs and I may stand a chance at writing posts that are at par with those I consider great among the lot but hey, we can’t know until we try, right?

I hope I don’t eat my words when I’ll say I would try to better this skill  😉

Barangay Elections

Today is a non-working holiday because of the Barangay Elections or election of officials for the local government units. In Twitter, tweeps are doing the #juanvote by the way.

If only casting votes during barangay elections are as peaceful as just submitting websites to freedirectorysubmission.com, then perhaps more people would be involved.

Why Vote? Here are some reasons  to vote.

Typhoon Megi

I know a lot of my FB contacts, friends IRL or virtual ones must have gotten tired with my status updates for two days re Typhoon Megi or Juan.

This is a super-typhoon and I think I have the right, like everyone else living in this area, to be concerned. Here is a photo of the typhoon, category 5 and one for the books as one of the strongest ever to hit the planet.

Scary! And yes, our family was affected by this super-typhoon that seems to be enjoying it’s stay and not moving ahead. Hmph.

Blog Traffic Through the Use of Social Media

Yes, the use of Social Media increases blog traffic and/or page views.

Social media sites can help increase your blog traffic. Among those social media tools can use are Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz, Digg, LinkedIn and the list goes on and on.

Of course, to get the hits you are aiming for, it is important to invest time and energy to put your blog links to these sites.

Here are a few tips to increase blog traffic through the use of social media sites:

  • Make sure your topic is interesting enough to be read by others. In other words: Content is STILL king!
  • Be precise and write using words that can be easily understood.
  • Do not try to attempt to do link baiting by writing a trending topic link only to find out that the post is entirely about a different topic
  • Be straightforward in writing your topics. If you need to write how people can buy term life insurance, then do not attach a link entitled “top 10 cutest pet puppies”
  • Schedule putting the links depending on the location of your readers
  • Visit other blogs or sites and make yourself “visible” by engaging in a virtual conversation. Pretty soon, these writers will visit you too

Given the know-how on how you can promote your blog is not that much important if you do not write good contents. So start writing good quality blog posts and you will soon see that people will read what you wrote.

Your readers agreeing or disagreeing with what you wrote is another matter of course 😉
