Blog with Passion

During the Wordcamp Philippines 2010, I attended a talk on “Blogging with Passion“.

I have been blogging for several years now and I admit there are times when the passion to write wanes. It is as if I just write to meet deadlines for online tasks and not write about what is “in my heart and in my mind”.

So how does one blog with passion?

The answer is simple: LIVE A PASSIONATE LIFE.

How? By doing the things you love and by sharing these with others so that they may learn a thing or two. If one lives his/her life with passion, it shows in how well they communicate their experiences. I know, because I write with a passion to share my experiences too.

Bloggers are receiving a lot of flak these days because of some issues regarding some offline activities that have significance with their online contents. Ok, this is about those who managed to have themselves invited to events they would not have otherwise been invited in the first place. Read more »

Another Frugal Christmas Post

I wrote in Facebook that “I want, errr… need a froyo but an eclair will do”. For those in the know, I meant a mobile phone. An android mobile phone.

I seldom but phones. My mobile phones are either hand-me-downs from the hubby or the other mobile phone I’m using was a “gift” from a telco where we did some beta-testing a year and a half ago.

In this season of giving, I don’t think I am ready to get myself that gift yet for I am forever “on a budget” for some of the more important things to pay for like tuition fee and food and school supplies and the list goes on and on.

The Christmas loot like football gifts, books, toys and more toys has a budget that is tightly guarded. Just because.

For now, I hope my new baking goodies would be worthwhile to give away since I plan to spend another frugal Christmas till it hurts. 😀

Bulaklak

Heto, mga maninipis na petal (ano ba ang Tagalog nito?) ng bulaklak na kulay pink. Me bonus pa na mga itlog ng butterfly.

pink

Massage for Children

Every night when I tuck the children for bed, they ask me to put lotion on their leg and arms as their “nightly massage”. My younger daughter (who didn’t go to school today because she has a low-grade fever) joked if there is a citronella face cream.

I don’t know where she got the idea, perhaps because she saw me reading the net to see what is the best night cream to use.

I asked her why she asked that and she explained so that the face wouldn’t get bitten by the dreaded dengue mosquito. Yes, we use Citronella Insect Repellent to hopefully keep those mosquitoes away.

Anyway, these nightly massages do not only make our bond stronger, massaging also makes children happy and connected to their loved ones. Plus they get to relax more and enjoy their sleep 🙂

Out Walking

I still see the young-at-heart grandpas passing by our place every morning. Yep, it is their daily routine to do brisk walking, all four or five (sometimes six) of them. I wonder how they are able to do that daily, walking very fast while chatting and laughing. Maybe they take men vitamins or daily fitness regimen is good enough to make them alert and mobile despite their age.

Sometimes I wonder where they live. Sometimes I think of giving names to match their faces. Sometimes, I think about what they do after they take their walks.

If there is one thing I am certain of, is that I may hate to admit it but I think they can out-walk me anytime. Ouch.
