Childhood Christmas Memories

The Christmas spirit is alive and well, despite the hardships and worries we (all) have gone through this year.

I have deliberately decided to do this Weekly Question today to kick off a Christmas-inspired weekly question that I have prepared.

Incidentally, the FilipinoMomBlog.com invites you to join our Christmas finds weekly meme called Fab Holiday Finds. Check out the mechanics here, thank you 🙂

What special Christmas memories do you still cherish as the years pass by?

My answer:

Walking in the Woods

Walking in the woods does a lot of wonderful things to the body and mind, and spirit.

One feels one with nature as listening to the chirping birds, smelling the smell of leaves, seeing colorful flowers, feeling the drizzling rain falling softly on one’s face, and inhaling fresh cool air are all incomparable experiences on a lazy Sunday weekend. For us, at least.

Such was what we did yesterday (Sunday) morning. We were not able to have a picnic on our picnic mat as we planned to because of the drizzles but we had fun nonetheless.

Have you tried this experience or are you one of those who feel more at ease in an air conditioned place where sights and sounds intertwine endlessly during Sundays?

Pang-aabuso, Nagwagi nga ba Tayo Laban Dito?

Thinking of a photo that will go with this week’s theme was very difficult for me.

First because there was no photo in our archives depicting something that has been won, or anyone in the family winning anything.

The truth is, I have already made entries in advanced, till December 4, EXCEPT this theme.

So I thought long and hard and waded through photos dating back from April 2008 till I reached August when we had a family field trip to Luneta and Fort Santiago as part of my twoyounger children’s homeschool lessons in history.

Was freedom won?

Of Christmas Parties and Eating

Christmas means different things to different people.

For children, it means getting gifts: new toys, new gadgets, new clothes and sometimes even cash.

For adults, Christmas means clearing up the social calendar as early as possible to be able to say “yes” to the different parties which mean socializing with friends, eating a lot of scrumptious and carefully prepared food and drinking different kinds of beverages meant for each special dish being served.

Diet? This is a word that is forgotten for the time being. After all the merriment, eating and drinking are done, then it is time to look for different kinds of physical exercises and training, alli reviews and toning down to get back into shape.

So has your pre-Christmas calendar been filled yet?

Poinsettia

Saturday mid-afternoon till early evening was spent at the Greenhills Shopping Center because my work schedule was not full. This week’s Weekly Question was even thought of while we were here.

Shopping is at its best here, with high-end goods as well as bargain goods to be had. The high-end shops sell expensive clothes, shoes, gadgets and toys.

The bargain section sells inexpensive and imitation shoes, bags and clothes. There are also lots of gift items from toys to household items like ceramics, laundry hamper, furniture, and food to mobile phones and knick-knacks related to Christmas.

Shopping haven really.

Here is a photo of a store selling poinsettia plants. Hmm…these really brighten up the day with the bright colors:

Have a great week to you all 🙂
