I Need Fortitude

I have stopped doing my morning rounds for almost two weeks now due to some pain in my shin. Now I am feeling the ill-effects of not doing so: I gained weight. Sigh.

A friend was talking about some pills she took which will help in reducing the unwanted body fats. I am not sure if I am ready to have even the best diet pills yet.

I am starting again tomorrow, if not, the next day, LOL!

And I am also thinking about taking this challenge. Wish me not luck but fortitude.

Urban Jungle

If only I have the power to travel back in time, I would do so.

I would like to see how these familiar places where we usually go looked like decades ago sans the metal buildings and artificial natural environment.

The other day, hubby and I talked about how the place where we live looked like when they first lived there in the early 80s.

He said the river was clear and there are so  many open spaces where they can frolic.

Now the river is full of floating trash that people fish for trash and not trout. The river banks are lined up with informal settlers‘ homes and yes, there have been reports of accidents where small children fall into the river.

Their children too have made the streets their playground. Heh.

I’m not exaggerating.

Capiz Shell Lamp

Capiz shell lamps make good garden accents because the lights being cast have soft glows.

Lessons From the Bank

I went to the bank today and a overheard a couple talking to a loan officer about taking debt consolidation packages for their financial responsibilities.

Debt is one thing I do not want to deal with.

My children know that and they see me buy purchases in cash which means we have to watch the budget tightly. I do not even have a credit card.

I believe this is one good way to teach children about money, to not spend what you do not have in your pockets and to live simply within the boundaries of what you can afford.
