Check Your Insurance Policy’s Fine Print

Last Friday night, when mommy blogger friends and I had our post-Christmas party with our kids, one of the topics discussed was about the submerged cars of two friends whose homes were also submerged in flood waters during the unfortunate day when typhoon Ondoy visited the country.

The topic got me looking for car insurance articles which lead me to different sites including www.carinsurancelist.com among others.

There have been reports of a lot of insurance companies not honoring what are written in the policies regarding these damaged vehicles.

The topic also got me thinking  if there are insurance coverage in this country to cover home damages due to flooding.

I know there are other things that seem wrong in the policies regarding how these are implemented and because policy holders (like me) do not spend time to read the fine print, miss out on important details that may prove to be very useful during times like these.

Note to self: read the fine print. Always.

Protection

Everyone with a computer and net connection should have one. And I am talking about antivirus software.

This is especially handy for us who have children who go online. Who knows what lurks behind those online gaming sites that they so love to visit and play games with.

So are your gadgets protected from worms and malicious programs? I hope so.

Oh, by the way, I have written another kind of protection in this post here.

Milk Scare

We have all been scared with the controversy about milk products and milk from China. Somehow we, especially the mothers, were affected that this has changed the way we lived for some time. Or maybe we still harbor those fears in our hearts.

The government does its work in investigating the problems but it is still up to us to do what we think is best.

So now that the news reports have released the partial list of milk and milk products that can be safely consumed, I ask you this question:

Do you think NOW is really the time to patronize our locally made milk and milk products or would you still trust products manufactured in other countries?

My answer:

Ilog Maria Sting-less Citronella Insect Repellent with Propolis

Yes, quite a mouthful actually.

The Ilog Maria Sting-less Citronella Insect Repellent with Propolis repels mosquitoes without chemical since it uses plant oils.

Why use this? With dengue fever cases rising and seems like the end is not in sight, it is better to be safe than sorry.

Faber Castell Pencil Sharpener

We are loyal Faber Castell products users. No, they are not paying me to say so.

There are different kinds of pencils to choose from.

When the children were starting to write, they used grip pencils to help them hold the pencils properly.

Now that they are older and are able to write better, we use the #2 pencil, usually the green color because I can’t stand the color orange.

The children also use the Faber Castell erasers.

And the Faber Castell colored pencils.

Ok, you got my drift.

One of the company’s products that we love are the sharpeners. We have had several sharpeners from them but these are either lost or misplaced. The older ones are still being used but when they have a new design, we just have to get one or maybe two.

See? No mess when the pencils are sharpened.

Check out one page of the Faber Castell site here and our homeschooling site here and see the colored pencils on both sites 🙂
