Homeschoolers No More

My kids are first-timers as school children. We have reached a consensus that they will go to school this school year. I have high hopes that they will have an easier time shifting from homeschooling to regular schooling since they are familiar with the school and big sis is also enrolled there.

For sure they will have to adjust to different things and some are:

  1. wake up schedule since they will have to wake up real early to catch the school bus
  2. school furniture since they will have to use desks and not sit on the sofa when they read their books or do seatworks on the dining table
  3. uniforms since they can’t go to school in their jammies
  4. eating packed lunches

I’m sure there are a whole lot more they will need to adjust to but I am hopeful that they will pull through 🙂

ABS-CBN Harapan

Last night’s Harapan involved several candidates running for Senate slots.

I had to stop reading about affordable life insurance quotes to concentrate on what the candidates have to say.

I decided to log-in to my Twitter account to follow the #harapan tweets and read what comments of others. There seem to be a consensus among those tweets on who performed best by being verbally proficient and sounding sincere.

Hubby and I finished the show. I still read  few tweets about it plus tweets about flooding in #Nashville. I hope people are safe there since there have been calls for help and that our Photo Hunter TNChick and her family is safe.

Thoughts on 2010 Philippine Elections

It is a few days before elections and I know that most candidates are becoming antsy. Those who ranked low in surveys are probably brainstorming right now what they have done wrong. Those who rank high, on the other hand, can not rest on this achievement alone. As they have said, the “real” survey will give the “real” result when all the ballots have been cast.

That is if there have been no cheating done despite this election being the first automated one in the country.

So what are the salient points that candidates use to encourage people to vote for them?

Jobs. Health care. Education. Poverty eradication which is a Herculean task and would probably take a loooong time to be able to have a significant improvement. No corruption. Peace and order.

I wonder where sustainable development, rural development and reproductive health care (and population control) comes into play? These are among those that rank high in my list of priorities for the country.

For me,  the country’s situation is a vicious cycle that needs not just a strong leader who has the will, dedication and leadership to lead us from further sinking into the basket case that we already are.We, the people, should do our part in ensuring that the future of our children’s children would be something to look forward to.

SCTEx

Ano nga ba ang mga hudyat ng pagbabago?

Makabagong teknolohiya?

Mga kalyeng puwede maikumpara sa international standards?

Isang lipunang may tugon sa pangangailangan ng mga tao?

Tama lahat iyan.

Eto, SCTEx, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. Bagama’t mas malayo ang biyahe kumpara sa Olongapo-Gapan road, tipong mas madali dahil walang trapik.

SCTEx

Looking for a Wireless Prepaid Phone Package

I am looking for an alternative landline package because ours is proving to be a bit expensive.

We do not regularly use our phone expect for a few phone calls to order for water to be delivered, hubby calling up to check on the kids, or my insurance agent’s secretary calling to remind me the life insurance quotes I have to pay (even if she already sent me sms).

Sending sms, emailing, chatting in chat rooms/email services and sending private messages through a social networking site where we have accounts are what we usually resort to when we need to contact each other.

I may need to resort of having a wireless prepaid service soon to cut down our landline phone expenses in half.

Any suggestions?
