Faber Castell Pencil Sharpener

We are loyal Faber Castell products users. No, they are not paying me to say so.

There are different kinds of pencils to choose from.

When the children were starting to write, they used grip pencils to help them hold the pencils properly.

Now that they are older and are able to write better, we use the #2 pencil, usually the green color because I can’t stand the color orange.

The children also use the Faber Castell erasers.

And the Faber Castell colored pencils.

Ok, you got my drift.

One of the company’s products that we love are the sharpeners. We have had several sharpeners from them but these are either lost or misplaced. The older ones are still being used but when they have a new design, we just have to get one or maybe two.

See? No mess when the pencils are sharpened.

Check out one page of the Faber Castell site here and our homeschooling site here and see the colored pencils on both sites 🙂

Zooming In

Living in the city is synonymous to being busy and having a hurried and harried life.

The sound of vehicles, the heat, the smog and the lack of trees around make people just accept urban living as devoid of nature’s sights and sounds OR they might crave for it’s beauty, peace and quiet.

The sky which in itself is like a canvas where wonderful colors can be seen can sometimes be dull.

Instead of seeing sunrise and sunset colors as well as cloud formations which people often times do not appreciate, we sometimes see airplanes, huge ones, flying above our heads. Not that its bad to see these, no not at all.

So I decided to try zooming in on some interesting objects that I can see around me for comparison.

An airplane flying overhead. One of the common things being noticed in the sky because of the noise it makes or the lights it flashes at night.

People rarely stop to smell the roses, so to speak. We are fortunate enough to be surrounded by trees and therefore we often hear the sounds of birds, playing happily among the branches, twittering and chirping.

it is quite difficult to take photos of birds because they do not stay in one place for long and I am just glad I was able to capture this photo (plus other bird photos) when I spent some time “bird watching” on the third floor of hubby’s family home.

Restrooms in Restaurants Reviews

Last week, when my mother blogger friends and I had dinner at the Fish and Co. in TriNoma, we discussed about several people who review restaurants.

fish-and-co.jpg

We might be turning into something like these people because of these once a month dinners we have been having the past few months.

Apparently, these people who do restaurant reviews do not just review the food that they eat.

They take photos of the food and rate these according to their own ratings and satisfaction scale. Food presentation, aroma, taste, eating utensils and cleanliness are just a few of the things they take notice of.

They even rate the interiors as well as the overall appearance of the restaurant, including the colors and the lighting.

The personnel are also scrutinized as well if they are good in public relations or lacking in it.

And I was quite surprised to learn that these people who review restaurants also rate the bathrooms/restrooms! Well, that probably should be on the list, if I may say so, since bathrooms/restrooms do not only provide relief but comfort as well.

Imagine washing your hands on a clean bathroom sink with Delta faucets, that would be a nice experience. I could probably recommend this to my brother-in-law who is an interior designer himself who has done some restaurants.

Ayaw Ko!

Maricel Soriano couldn’t have said it better when she said in her movie, “I don’t like dirt (or is it mud?)! I don’t like cramped places! I don’t like people belittling me!”

For me, I don’t like people who abuse the environment. I don’t like noisy neighbors. I don’t like people with one-track minds (not, not Abby Lee). I don’t like people who are too dependent on others. I don’t like bullies. I don’t like people who are too opinionated (wait, is that what I am turning to be?) Come to think of it, all these people combined would pretty much sum up a lot of people, including me 😀

Ok then, one thing I am not really fond of: heavy rains. Why? Because it brings about so much destruction: floods, landslides and diseases.

Sige na nga, isang bagay na talagang ayaw ko ay ang malakas na ulan. Bakit nga ba? Kasi marami itong pinsalang dala: baha, pagguho ng lupa at mga sakit.

Stock or Modified?

We were supposed to go to a car show yesterday but the children didn’t want to leave the house anymore when to started to rain. So we just stayed home and each did his and her own thing. At least hubby changed my blogs’ themes. A lot of tweaking here and there but in the end, one both of these would have to be changed if one of my favorite plug ins won’t work fine.

The custom or modified question can refer to the themes since even if these were customized, still some modifications are needed to suit a blogger’s needs.

Or, this can mean cars. Yes, cars.

We have been to a lot of car shows. Not that we plan to buy a new car, no, that would have to be eons from now. Its just that getting near these cars gives us the “feel good” feeling.

Stock or modified?

Stock cars are cars and trucks that have not been changed in any way. It looks exactly like how to it looked when it got off the assembly line or production site. This term can also mean production based cars used for racing.

Here is an example of a stock car that I want (of course, this is by no means an ordinary stock car since it’s engine have been modified and is better than ordinary engines):

Custom cars or modified cars or tuner cars on the other hand, are those that have been changed according to the owner’s specifications, needs and style.

There are many ways to modify a car: paint, mag wheels, body art, airbrush designs, neon lights, door conversions, steering wheels, wide body kits plus a lot more!

Here is an example of a custom or modified or a tuner car:

So would you go for the stock car or the modified car?
