Man Jobs, You Say?

Those who have been participating in the Weekly Questions are women. So I decided to post a question that will have them answer if they can do man jobs.

Man jobs are those that require individuals, be they women or men, to do man jobs, as professionals or as odd jobs or as emergency jobs.

So the Weekly Question will attempt to answer :

What man jobs can you do?

My answer:

Bilog na Naman ang Buwan

Who remembers the song of Tropical Depression “Bilog na Naman ang Buwan? You know, that reggae band who can make you sing and dance alongside their upbeat songs?

Why did I ask If you know this song? Its because of my entry, the photo of the moon, a nice black and white combination. I love looking at the moon though if I do that for a long time, I might end up either with a stiff neck or end up looking like I’m nuts. This is one of my family’s favorite thing to look at the sky, the full moon. The photo below is not of good quality since I didn’t use a tripod.

Happy Thursday everyone! 🙂

Without a Maid

The norm in most homes in the urban places here in the Philippines is to have a maid or a house helper.

We don’t have one. We have been without a maid for what, five years now, almost six years.

People ask me always, how do we cope?

It takes a lot of time management to be able to cope, especially to a part-time working mom, part-time stay-at-home mom and full time homeschooling mom like me.

Here are some ways:

Semestral Break

A few weeks from now, semestral break will be here. I am sure a lot of families with school age children as well as college students looking forward to having a break are making their early plans.

So what are the things to prepare for a hassle-free semestral break?

  • First of all, make sure that the schedules of those having the break are free.
  • Look for the best hotel deals that will offer maximum enjoyment and relaxation without paying sky high fees.
  • Agree upon the destination early on and book early too. Booking tasks cover hotels and flight or bus schedules.
  • If the trip entails driving, make sure that the vehicle is in its best condition.
  • Make a doable list of the places to visit and go over the list before the trip. Having an alternate itinerary would be very helpful.
  • Pack the essentials you need a few days before the trip. Making a list would be helpful too.

Hmm…what have I forgotten?

Paano Na?

The theme for this week’s Litratong Pinoy is golden.

I thought about doing something different with this entry and related this to age. Yes, the golden age which we probably do not want to celebrate yet.

My idea was to post photos of people well into their 50’s who still work hard to support their families. Nothing bad here but to those who are older? How many times have we heard about a grandpa or a grandma with their frail bodies and brittle bones working not just to support their able-bodied children but also their grandchildren? We sympathize with them, sometimes we seethe with anger why they allow this to happen.
