Sebatian Vettel Formula One 2010 World Champion

Congratulations Sebastian Vettel, Formula One Grand Prix 2010 World Champion.

“Sebastian Vettel drove a masterful race to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and lift his maiden Formula 1 world title.

The 23-year-old Red Bull driver was third in the standings but led from pole and saw other results go his way to become the youngest champion.” – David Ornstein, BBC

Formula One is my hubby’s super favorite motor-sports show, and MotoGP comes next, if I’m not mistaken.

The son is in the same mold for he religiously watches the races, even if it means he will wake up a little after midnight to watch some races live. The son roots for a different driver though, Nico Rosberg while I like Fernando Alonso. Formula One drivers, some even younger than Sebastian Vettel, are very dedicated, hardworking and determined to make their way to the top. I have to tell him that he can be a winner too, in whatever field he wants to be, if he has dedication, passion, hard work and determination.

Sinkhole in Germany

Why do I have a feeling that sinkholes are appearing more often these days.

I’m guessing maybe technology which equates to fast news makes it easier to know what’s happening around the world. Or maybe, there is a scientific explanation to this phenomenon.

For instance, this sinkhole that appeared in a housing estate in Germany looks like a big one. A car in one of the closed garages there fell into the sinkhole. I hope the residents don’t have unpaid rv loans just in case something happened to their parked vehicles there 🙁 On the other hand, residents should flee the place to avoid anything bad happening to them.

I saw another sinkhole video here.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer

I blogged about that morning I bought the 7th Harry Potter series when it came out:  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

One and a half days later I blogged about the book. Yep spent a day and a half reading the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

And now there is a trailer: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer:

“Why do you live?”

“Because I have something worth living for.”

Can’t.Wait. Thank you clevver TV 🙂

November 2009 Blog Blast for Peace

In an ideal world, the conditions of poverty, social injustice, inequality, environmental degradation, and the weak do not exist.

Alas, we do not live in an ideal world but in a real and dynamic one where all these things, and more, exist.

We may not have time to pause and ponder on these issues while we go about minding our own business.

We may think we live in peaceful existence when we are not bombarded with these issues. Do we?

We can not carry and fathom all the world’s troubles and everyone’s worries but initiating positive changes, even when taken in small steps, can go along way.

My idea of peace, as I have written before, still stands true for me:

No matter what we do, we can not live in isolation and we are not immune to the ills of the world.

Oppression. Killing. Famine. War. Terrorism. Environmental destruction. Natural disaster. Even family matters that seem trivial, all these and more, cause disturbance of peace.

Through it all, maybe peace is a mindset, a lifestyle and a kind of wishful thinking. With all the negative things happening, can one really have a peaceful mindset?

For me, writing about peace is just one step in achieving it because even if one writes about peace but does not live it, then the effort would be futile.

Words are wonderful but actions are more than so.

Ang Pagtatapos, Bow!

Isang malaking karangalan ang makapagtapos sa isang lebel ng pag-aaral, ito man ay preschool, mababang paaralan, mataas na paaralan, kolehiyo o graduate school. It is a great honor to finish a level of schooling, be it preschool, elementary school, high school or graduate school.

One thing that really baffles me is that schools want to earn so much that by the time a student finishes preschool, he or she has already been studying for what, 2, 3 or 4 years already?
