Sims Social in Facebook

Do you play Facebook games?

Me? I do. I used to play FarmTown, CafeWorld and CSI Crime City. I’ve been recently hooked with Gardens of Time and played Sims Social very briefly.

Why do we play these virtual games? For me, this is a form of relaxation. I admit, for some time, during the height of our (meaning my friends and I) being hooked with Farmtown, we get a bit stressed when we can’t go online because the crops will die, LOL.

Recently, these same friends and I got hooked with Gardens of Time but the interest has waned because three of us got too busy with our children’s trimester exams reviews.

Now there is a new Facebook Game, Sims Social, that is gaining popularity. According to a Mashable article:

In just two weeks, Sims Social has leapfrogged nine games, including longstanding Zynga hits Empires & Allies, Texas Hold ‘Em, Pioneer Trail and — yes — FarmVille. In the last 24 hours, 9.3 million people played Sims Social, while 8.1 million played FarmVille, according to Facebook tracking site Appdata.com.

And uhm, a friend is inviting me back to Sims Social because I haven’t been playing since I started a few weeks ago.

Should I?  Tests are still a long way to go so maybe yes, I will play Sims Social again 😀

Charging Problems

I need a new BP-6M for my “main” mobile phone. The battery I’m using seems to have swallowed a lot of juice: it has bulges.

I think I also need another battery for that other little mobile phone I use because the power doesn’t last till late afternoon – early evening, that time when I have to call my eldest daughter and my husband respectively.Frustrating I tell ya.

The hubby said he thinks I need several mobile telephone batteries because the third mobile unit has problems with charging. I have to remove the battery from the unit itself to charge which means I can’t send sms and receive calls while the battery is charging. Argh!

I want to have a new mobile phone but as it is, these three units am using right now still serve their purpose so I have to make do.

I know, when you’re a mom with three school kids, these “wants” take a back seat.

For Real

For the nth time, I’m telling myself I should go on a diet because of a rather unpleasant happening this afternoon.

“That” was the last straw that broke the camel’s, errr, I mean MY back. Sorry, too embarrassing to tell.

I’ve been lazy for the past few months. Even I sometimes get tired of being too tired to do anything. Day after day I’d tell myself, “put on those shoes, groove to the dance moves you almost perfected last summer, start hooping once again and stop sitting down doing nothing the whole day.”

Should I start only when I feel faint due to lack of air and exercise? Should I start when I need to have bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?

I’m turning a new leaf starting tomorrow, not for vanity’s sake but for my health. For real.

Shop Till You Drop

I’ve often wondered how much others earn.

Why?

Because they can afford to shop till they drop whereas we only shop when there is a need: broken school shoe sole, tight jeans and shirt, school performance and a school/family event where clothes we don’t have in the closets should be worn.

New bag? I still have bags I haven’t used yet. Unbranded. So what? The budget for a new bag which was a birthday gift from the hubby is still untouched.

New shoes? The pairs I use are still decent except my running shoes where one has the sole detached. I got a running event in three weeks so I think I need to get a new pair.

New clothes? As long as there are no big holes and clothes don’t look too shabby, I can hold off getting new clothes. The kids wear uniforms most of the time so we just make do with what they have except when it’s too awkward to wear jeans and shirts that are too tight.

One thing though, we don’t shop if we can’t afford because the thought of having to think about payday loans is something I don’t particularly want to be stressed with.

And yes, groupon sites are sites I’d look into again and again. Who knows, I might get good deals there. I already did and in fact, I still have to blog about it.

I Hope Tomorrow is a Better Day

Today was a very tiring day for me, even if I didn’t go anywhere because I canceled my appointment with a student. If only we are able to do telecommuting via MegaMeeting Enterprise Software installed in my laptop and still have our session, I’d be glad to do it, even if it means I’d take a small chunk off my professional fee 😉

IF only this student has internet connection at home or even allowed to go near a computer, argh.

Why so tired when I just stayed home the whole day?

I woke up to the news that an earthquake occurred around the time I went to sleep. Must have been exhausted because I didn’t feel a thing but  where my parents are, they have felt it and got very scared.

Morning gave way to news of accidents, a bus going off an elevated highway, a multiple car collision, another vehicular accident and a storm now category 2. Landslide and flooding elsewhere happened too, sigh…

Twitterverse was abuzz the whole day with so many info about these sad events.

Classes have been suspended for tomorrow and so my worries about the kids getting stranded on their way home from school is now far-fetched.

I hope tomorrow is going to be a better day.
