A New Bike!

The kids got their Christmas gift a week earlier before Christmas: a new bike (which they had to share since we still have a bigger and rarely used bike which belongs to my eldest daughter).

Biking in the house ain’t fun so we bring this bike if we go to my hubby’s family home where  the streets are much safer to navigate than those in front of our house.

Here is my son, guiding his bike as he gets ready to tackle the wide roads of our favorite weekend place, that place where we go walking in the woods on Sunday mornings, and/or have picnic,  and/or go to hear mass.

Just the perfect place to learn to ride a bike, which is like a bikers’ “heaven” during Sundays.

How Was Your Christmas?

Christmas has come and gone but the memories are still fresh.

We posted about ways on how we could possibly spend a  Frugal Christmas without sacrificing quality.

We shared about Christmas traditions.

We shared our fondest memories of Christmas when we were younger.

So now the Weekly Question asks:

How was your Christmas?

My answer:

Christmas Vacation

Yeah, Christmas vacation is extra long this year. From December 25th till January 24th.

Another yeah, this is absurd.

The banks are closed too, except for some who saw fit to conduct business. I am also concerned about the production side. How would we fare with the supplies especially when the holidays “demand” we get these for the food to be had? Companies are required to pay these workers more which will further give them more cost that what is necessary. Oh well, their problem, not mine.

Sure, bonding time with family is going to be reinforced. But vacation time means:

Are You Happy?

I have already written a post for Weekly Question early today.

I don’t know why I didn’t publish it and I dilly-dallied and decided I will do so at night. Well, who would have thought there was a reason for this.

We went to hear mass in a different church today. The people were getting a bit finicky when it was already past 15 minutes when the mass hasn’t started yet. Well, it did finally.

The homily was about being happy, feeling happy, feeling joy during this Christmas season.

The priest gave a very short homily about this topic especially about spending Christmas amidst global crisis.

He asked pointed questions: Is Christmas about the gifts? food? happy parties?

He further discussed tragedies, both personal and universal in nature that occurred before and after this special day.

Before he ended his short homily, he asked this question that I am going to ask you too:

Are you happy?

My answer:

The Gift

One of my favorite songs is “The Gift” by Jim Brickman.

Isa sa aking paboritong kanta ang “The Gift” ni Jim Brickman.

For me, the most important gifts we can ever receive in our whole lifetime is LIFE and LOVE. LIFE because we exist and we enjoy God’s blessings as well as trials. LOVE because if we love God and the people around us everything will fall into place.

Family. Isn’t it that they mean everything to us and we give them our love?

Pamilya. Hindi ba sila ang ating buhay at sila ay ating binibigyan ng pagmamahal?
