Home is Where the Heart Is

Steel heart. Bakal ng korteng puso.

That is a part of the iron grills of the front fence. I took this photo during the first week of the year with the colorful sunset sky as a backdrop.

This is kinda symbolic because I was inside and have been staying at home enjoying domesticity due to the longest vacation last year. My vision of the world outside maybe limited but I must admit I enjoyed spending these days at home.

Isn’t it that we always say, “HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS”?

Consideration to Others

Consideration to others for me is about courtesy.

It does not entail people to bow their heads in reverence to other people, not its not that.

Consideration encompasses not just respecting the opinions of other people, recognizing their personal space and doing things not just for your own benefit but for the benefit of others too. It shows in courtesy, knowing that there are other people besides yourself.

One of the things I don’t like to see are people who show (intentionally or unintentionally) actions that clearly do not show the proper decorum, especially when they are in public.

Take a look at this photo I took last week while I was waiting for my to-go order from a popular local food chain:

So the weekly question will focus on this photo:

What would you do if you see this in a restaurant?

Lilang Balabal

Purple/Violet is the theme for this week’s Litratong Pinoy.

Uso sa panahong me kaginawan ang gumamit ng balabal (pero sa kasong ito, parang tela lang to at hindi korteng tatsulok). Kahit nga hindi malamig, marami akong nakikitang gumagamit nito. Bakit kanyo? 😀

The “in” thing to use during cold weather is the shawl although it just looks like a piece of cloth and not exactly a shawl with the triangular shape. Even if its not very cold, I see a lot of women using this. Why? They wear sleeveless clothes but because their arms are a bit fat, they use the shawl to cover the flab. I am guilty of having such arms, so I would rather not wear sleeveless clothes only to cover my arms. Ooops, my bad! 😀

That is our youngest child with her older brother, wearing the purple shawl of our eldest child. This photo was taken when the homeschoolers celebrated United Nations’ Day. They are looking at things representing South America. They are wearing “island” get-up because we belong to the Oceania group.

Maligayang Huwebes po!

Suman at Manggang Hinog

Orange, the color, is the theme for this week’s Litratong Pinoy. Of course, I wanted to put a photo of an orange fruit so that is fits the theme right? I guess not. For those who know me well, they know I dislike the color orange and fuschia pink so I do not have things belonging to me with that color.

Women’s Health

Women are prone to health issues as they grow older. Well, men do too, as they grow older.

There are different health conditions that may affect women as they age, menopause and hot flashes for one, vaginal dryness, memory gap, urinary tract infection, depression, migraine, osteo-arthritis and a list of conditions we don’t want to hear happen to us.

This is probably the reason why we have resolved to be healthier and more fit as we celebrate each new year.

With a long list of women’s health concerns, what is it that you dread to hear the doctor say to you?

My answer:
